How is saying 'this shouldnt be a key element in a hire at a public institution' 'mocking his faith'?

Maybe not that post, but definitely the post that said he's going to run the "Power T" formation where the T looks like a cross from above.

How about we judge the guy on his resume instead of the status of his faith, hmm'kay? If the argument is he didn't build Toledo himself, fine. If the argument is "He's too Christian", well, that's about as big of a fail of judging the capability of a coach as an athletic director making "strong faith and family values" a solid requirement of employment.

If Campbell ends up being the HC I hope a lot of posters ***** and moan about it. Because if everyone thought it was a great hire he would be doomed to fail.

Campbell is prob the safest hire at this point. This is not chiz 2.0 in any way shape or form..Toledo runs a balanced offense that is more run oriented. They've produced some nice RBs and their lines always are solid. I wouldn't mind him bringing over his OC either. Guy is a great recruiter(OC). Overall I'm not surprised in this choice if true..I am a little surprised JP didn't conduct other interviews from what is being reported.

I think people who are knocking him for his faith are complete *** hats.

Also, not that it matters, but being a man of faith will probably be big for some recruits.

Bro, we get it. You liked that chizik pushed his religion on people. We get it. It's not appropriate....Christian or not!

That's why you got so upset with the suggestion that it shouldnt be a factor.

I didn't say that - YOU said that. Go squirt your diarrhea into a toilet instead of all over my posts.

But his offense DOES score enough for the league he plays the vast majority of his games in. That counts for something, right?

Not really when you do it with a good foundation to start. That's like saying Iowa has a great offense because they can beat big ten teams.

If he wins it won't matter and so many on here think you can score less and win in this league. Well we will find out like we did with chizik.

The only thing I like about Campbell is that he is an oline coach. If he can improve that at isu, he might have a chance.

The "chiz" comparisons have absolutely nothing to do with football.

There are suggestions of terms but nothing concrete yet. Some say as low as 1.5 to around 2.5 for 5 years. The rumors are all over though and nobody really knows accurate figures just yet.

People knocking people for saying it shouldn't matter are complete *** hats. Fixed that for you.

All I will say is all we've hired since the big 12 was the big 8 is coordinators. That can definitely work, and we've had modest success at times, but if we get Campbell, you're hiring a guy who has already been a successful coordinator, and has been a successful head coach for several years, and is used to WINNING. There's several candidates I'd be happy with, but getting a head coach that has been successful in a decent conference is what we need. No on the job training, and a guy that can make the team better this offseason, instead of learning how to conduct meetings and press conferences.

Keep in mind, this is almost identical to the Prohm hire:
-Both successful mid major coaches
-Prohm (4 years experience), Campbell (5 years experience)
-Both are young and vibrant, which should be a major plus in recruiting
-Both are inheriting arguably the most talented rosters ISU has ever had

D UP is one of the best troll jobs in the history of college sports message boards. I applaud him.

Campbell is a fine candidate.

What makes it Chizik 2.0? Chizik wasn't a head coach, coached at Texas, was a defensive guy....

Because omygawd now that we hired Prohm and (possibly) Campbell and Fennelly is still coaching here being a born-again Christian is going to be the #1 requirement to be a Cyclones fan!!!
