It's true that some things are not for sale, but one of them is not NU football. I was really disappointed in both NU and OU for not taking a more leadership role when this started going down last year. I thought for sure that they would realize adding the Texas schools was a mistake and that they would let them walk and keep the old Big 8 together and add a couple teams like BYU and Utah if they thought 8 was not enough. What about tradition, rivalry? Oh, and by the way, the old Big 8 was a pretty damn good league in both the money sports. It's very sad to see the Big 8 teams get busted apart, especially when it did not have to happen.

Yeah, and UNL and TO had a major role in creating the situation we're in. Make no mistake, the B1G didn't come together and decide to invite UNL. TO lead a campaign because he didn't want to fix the Big XII, he wanted to **** UT. It's that simple. The Big XII power teams have always had the power to fix the league.

Until a UNL fan admits the truth on this board they can eat a bag of ****s.

Nice Post, all of the power institutions in the Big 12 are responsible for this mess not just Nebraska; admittedly I'm not a fan of the Huskers but Texas is more to blame than they are imo.

I tend to come down on a lot of the Cyclone fans in this thread - that Nebraska is just as guilty as Texas (as well as A$M and OU) for creating instability in the Big 12. When the conference was founded 15 years ago those 4 schools had no problems with concentrating the money and power amongst themselves. Essentially they created the monster that is Texas, and instead of reigning in the monster by voting with the rest of the conference members (and giving up their control in the process), they decided to cut and run. Fortunately for all three of those schools they have places to land. Not so fortunate for TT, OSU, MU, and KU, where the future is unclear and dicey, although they likely have places to land as well. Extremely unfortuante for BU, K-State, and ISU, where, if things don't fall in place the right way, us three could be looking at the annihilation of our athletic departments. Of course, the Power 4 isn't thinking of what might happen to the less powerful schools in the conference - what do they care as long as they remain relevant and continue getting paid (although I should stat this is a little hypocritical, as if ISU were offered by the B1G tomorrow we'd bail on the Big 12 as well).

What's even worse is over the last year we've had a lot of NU fans on this site with chests stuck out high proclaiming their superiority that NU is now in a conference that not only shares revenue equally, but is away from the corrupt power that is Texas. I hope you can understand why that really upsets us - all it ever took was one additional vote and the Big 12 would have equal revenue sharing and a stabilized conference. However, NU was always more interested in looking out for their own interests, which helped to destabilize the conference. So when NU fans come here proclaiming their superiority about being in the type of conference that not only have the rest of the us in the Big 12 wanted for more than a decade, but NU was one of the major players as to why the conference could never get there, you begin to understand why **** goes down when NU fans start posting here.

Let's set this straight - I'm not saying you're one of those fans. You remind me of several Nebraska fans that I know who are really humble about the situation, don't rub it in my face that they're where we want to be, and are just really grateful to have the opportunity that they have (one of these friends actually happened to wrestle for Nebraska in either the late 1970s or early 80s). But considering the general attitude of NU fan that posts here, you can begin to understand why no NU fan is generally treated well here.

I will say this though - if NU does find some way to help shoehorn ISU into the B1G, it would really go a long way to healing a lot of wounds that NU has opened up over the last several years.
