I am simply saying we have a player that supposedly dominated AAU basketball, who was called "the best PG in NYC" by some coaches. And everyone seems to think we lack a point guard. So doesn't it make sense to at give it a try? If we were getting good PG play I would have no problem with him sitting on the bench and learning.
If we had a reasonably talented football team, and the QB was clearly hurting us, we would make a change. No doubt our coaches have forgotten more than any of us will ever know, but I would give Sledge some meaningful minutes and see what happens.
Only if the backup was able to better the situation. Why can't you just assume Sledge isn't good enough to be playing at the moment? Players don't always pan out. And the ones that do, don't always pan out right away. Bo Williams anyone?
