Agreed. I’ve been emotionally and mentally preparing for that. Just please God let there be football.

I've been saying that you might be able to get a game or two in before the rest of the season was cancelled if you started games right away on Aug 29, but now that the season has been pushed back a while, I'm not confident it even starts because college campuses will be such a s**t show by then.

They should get names and then see if any of those same students get belligerent on social media if/when the season is called off or they can't go to games since they helped spread it.

If they can positively identify students in these photos, could they be kicked off campus? I know they are doing it at other colleges from the sounds of it.

That might be the only thing that makes a kid think twice about doing it?

If there is no football you can blame these people:

I’m curious who her husband works for that he worked for free all summer.

ISU has done a ok job communicating the Cyclone Cares campaign to students. Email, social media, texts have all been sent to students and they will have tents on campus handing out cyclone cares swag. At the end of the day 20yr old college kids are going to do what that do best, not follow directions or what’s best for everyone.
I give it until Labor Day before we move back online. ISU has already lost 85 million since the start of the pandemic, not including athletics.

I'm calling it Option 3: 50% attendance is off the table. Option 1: 0% (only family members) is looking the most likely
No question. The other options have been eliminated, other than on paper, unless a vaccine is out Monday.

I think that the plan all along was to get a few weeks of classes in and then move to online. Just make sure those courses are started so the tuition checks roll in. Anyone who thought that students wouldn't be partying like that is crazy. Of course they're going to.

I'm not a robot
They call it 801 day. Its all the frats and sororities that could not drink all week until 8:01am yesterday. Have a friend who has a house in the area that had no power yet due to Derecho, she was talking about all the music and people partying yesterday morning already. You shall reap what you sow.
It was not just the fraternities/sororities. I drove by plenty of off campus houses on Saturday where parties were occurring.

It’s hilarious that people didn’t think this would be the case.

I’m a little surprised that I’m with this viewpoint too. It’s a horrible look, but we all knew this was part of the equation of bringing students back to campus.

Honestly partying outside probably isn’t much bigger of a risk than asking them to live in dorms or attend classes in person.

Me too. I'm on record that I don't think the players will behave this way and I'm sticking to that.

I think the players will be more careful than the general student pop. The problem is their social circles aren't just confined to the team. It's a given that players are going to be exposed. Question is if the program can limit the spread within the team. And what happens with the university.

Most won’t because they have a lot at stake and don’t want to let down their teammates and coaches.

I’m sure a few will of course because that is humane nature. Hell that happens in pro sports where players are risking losing millions.

What sucks is that this does put the players themselves at more risk because they’ll be around non athletes. But we all knew this would be the case. The team will have to take a training camp mindset to the entire season and stay focused. Tough to do but I think we have great veteran leadership.
