So when is the big pro-mask protest in Ames for all of the people in the “let’s play football” threads?
Real scientists?
Only people who've actually been responsible for people dying from corona virus or those governors who decided to put infected people in with old people homes, who were at high risk of dying. Not anyone who doesn't wear a mask.Anti-maskers are literally killing people over their freedumbs being infringed upon but yeah those mask-shamers are just like the worst man.
If you had a son or daughter that you noticed in one of those pictures- w/o a mask - what would you do?
I would call them and ask "WFT is wrong with you?"

Haven't had a daily count of cases this low since late June.
Deaths on Sunday and Monday are always low on this site but they didn't go bonkers over the last month compared to the initial outbreak, which is positive.

Gee, we've, more or less, locked up college aged kids with their parents since the middle of March.
These college kids have been out and about this entire summer and have been going to parties. I'm not saying that's a good thing either, it's just how it is.Judging by social media, this really hasn't been the case.

Gee, we've, more or less, locked up college aged kids with their parents since the middle of March. Curtailing their lives and stifling their social life to an extreme and we're surprised that they want to party and socialize when the apparent restraints are removed?
Who couldn't have seen that coming?
Disappointed: Yes/maybe
Surprised: Not at all.
Well most people who know they have covid aren't going to stores. And asymptomatic person can't really blame them as they probably don't even know they have it. Plus wearing a mask doesn't completely stop the spread. So if someone has Covid, goes to a store, refuses to wear a mask, and breathes into someone's face in line, and that person gets Covid as a result and dies, the person breathing on them didn't have responsibility?
Same with work spaces?

I mean yes if someone knowingly has it and is out in crowds then yes I agree with you they should probably be held responsible for it.Somebody doesn’t believe in personal responsibility. What about the guy in Cali who attended a party knowingly infected, then his friend got it from him and died? To me, that guy is responsible. That is just one anecdotal account and of course there are many others, but it all boils down to personal responsibility. If you know you have it and put others at risk, you are responsible for what happens.
I won’t get into the macro level on this post and address failed and incompetent govt responses.
I believe it's 15 minutes within 6 feet of one another. These are the situations that always confuse me with the exposure term. If the two people you mentioned are only in line together for 5-10 minutes, then they would not be considered exposed right? I thought it was if you were near a positive person there was exposure, but when I brought up an example of being at a target (where probably 75% had masks on properly (99% had masks but a third were on in name only), I thought it was potential exposure but was told it wasn’t 15 minutes so it wasn’t an exposure. I’m an truly unsure what is considered exposure and what isn’t at this point.
Yeah, I think we are seeing some positive effects from more people wearing masks, and the other measures states took in July when things blew up. The state of Kansas did a study on it and found clear positive trends in all the counties that mandated it after it went into effect.
Still too high and embarrassing compared to the rest of the world but at least it’s an improvement. I’ll take anything we can get.

Why are people surprised about this? They are kids 18-22 or so and some getting away from mom and dad for the first time. I’m not saying it’s right but we were all that age at one point.
Be safe college kids
