Here's how I take that, given Campbell had just interviewed with Missouri prior to that call:

ISU AD supports his coaches and lets them do their job.

Campbell will not be told who to hire as assistants.

Locker room has guys in it who care about winning.

Mizzou is not all those things, or possibly any of them.

They all wanted Stoops. Ferentz looked like a total failure of a hire in comparison.

There's a long list of bad hires that worked out and good hires that failed. Chizek and McDermott were seen as great hires. A lot of people thought Fred was a desperate hire.

What it really goes to show is that it is really just about impossible for any of us to know if this hire will work out or not. The two main drivers of success (imho) are the drive/ambition and intelligence of the person. And let's face it, none of us really have any insight on that with CMC or any hire. About the only thing we can see that might tie to that is prior history of success/winning.

We all have our preferences about HC experience, system, etc etc. None of that really matters as much as intelligence and and almost pathological desire to succeed.

woah .best. post. of. the. thread.

Just saw another Ubben gem. He is trolling big time on this one..

KU is a better job than a lot of people realize. Just stuck in a gigantic hole. Easier to win there than KSU/ISU

I think his job description speaks volumes:

"Freelance journalist for hire"

In other words, a moron that couldn't hang onto his cushy gig with ESPN; decides it's ISU's fault he can't hang onto a job instead of realizing it's because he's a terrible journalist.

Had any press conference info been released yet? I'd assume tomorrow, as it was said he'll actually be in town today.

Also, doesn't Toledo have a bowl game to play? Do we know if he'll coach that still?

Noon tomorrow is the presser. Prohm should prank him and give him one of the pink tournament polos to wear for it.

Press Conference at Noon tomorrow. My guess is CMC will not coach their bowl game.

ISU makes it official. 6 year contract, first year worth $2 Million.

Smack dab in the middle of Jeremy's $1.5-$2.5 million rumored offers. Let's hope there is a huge budget for assistants. We'll never have one of the best rosters in the conference but we could have one of the best coaching staffs.

I doubt Campbell stays at UT for the bowl game. To do that would be to surrender the advantage he's gotten by signing with ISU early. He needs to get to Ames, get his staff arranged, prepare to identify recruits to fill out the class, and be ready to hit the road when the next open period opens up.

Ermagherd...can we please not do this this time? With Rhoads, I kind of got it...between the cute little CPR and how many round heads couldn't spell Rhoads...and then CFH kinda went with it, but can we let it go, finally?
