These are the games I remember from my childhood.
Could somebody help me out on the years?

Beat Colorado St 63-0 had the helmets that were styled after
the Jets, Crutchfield knocked himself out landing on his head
scoring a TD (maybe 1980)

Lost at Drake, Amero Ware ran all over us (81 or 82)

Beat New Mexico or New Mexico State, sky diver broke his leg
at midfield. (83 or 84)

Nebraska crushed us, Danny Harris was playing RCB I think
Rozier broke a long run on an option to the other side.
Harris ran him down after getting knocked down on the play.
(82?)

I believe it was 97 and Troy Davis had 52 carries against UNI. I think UNI's saftey had just as many tackles, JK, but seriously he had like 20+.

Mine was in 1998 I think. Went to a home game vs Texas Tech and Mizzou. Can't remember which one came first. We lost both of them. In fact I didn't see a cyclone victory until 2000 on the last game of the season against Kansas. The first 5 or so games i went to we lost.

I have a very weak memory of all this. I was like 9 or 10. I remember going to the oklahoma game and they won 31-10. I remember the tech or missouri game when damien goss (I believe) caught a diving touchdown.
I believe it was Damien Groce. Didn't he transfer from a school that dropped its football program or something and only played one year?

1998 ISU vs TCU

31-21 TCU Win

I was 14 at the time, had been a fan for two years (roughly). Haven't looked back since.

We beat CSU 69-0 in 1980. And I think their helmets were modeled after the Rams, not the Jets (still are).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think we ever played AT Drake anytime in the modern era (ISU would not play at a stadium that small) but they did beat us in Ames in 1985. Still the worst feeling I've ever had walking out of the stadium.

Colorado State would've been 1980 — 69-0.

I vaguely remember the skydiver incident — I was probably there, and "not quite coherent," shall we say. I don't remember if it was 83 or 84. I know ISU played NMSU in '83, but LOST. And I was at that game, and, unfortunately, was coherent enough to remember it.

Pretty sure it was the Iowa game in 1997 (ISU lost 63-20 to what ended up being a 7-5 Iowa team).

I was an Iowa fan at the time however. My full conversion to ISU didn't happen until after I graduated.

I know I had attended a few before this one but this one I remember. It was when Iowa State played Ohio I think and Troy Davis busted out like 370 some yards I think. I was not big into stats at that age.

I believe it was 1990 vs the one and only Cornhuskers. My dad got free tickets that morning from an ag business. Nobody wanted to go since they figured Iowa State would lose, which they did and to top it off it was snowing like crazy. We attended the next game in 92 when the Clones beat the Huskers.

It will come full circle on Saturday when my dad and I will watch the last game against Nebraska with my now 8 year old son. I will not be surprised if we lose but some reason I have a good feeling in my gut about this one. I really think the Clones will pull the upset.

If this happens, it will probably be my happiest day as a cyclone fan.

2000 season finale against Kansas. SUPER cold that day.

I remember that game. Someone came around and took a
picture of our tailgating group. The following year went to
the Fair and that picture took up about a quarter of the
team poster.

Way up there
I'm not sure the game as I was 4 but it was during the 84 season. I know I still have a program, I'll have to dig it out. Seeing how recent many people's first game was says alot about their posts and expectations for this program.

2006 vs Toledo. Triple Overtime. Liked the Cyclones growing up, but never got to go to a game until I was a student.

Grew up in a family where my dad is a Hawkeye, stepdad and mom kinda neutral, and I loved the Cyclones. Went to Kinnick all the time (yuck...) as a kid since my dad has season tickets there. My mom and stepdad lived pretty close to Ames but could never afford to take us to games, so I had to watch them on TV when I could or listen on the radio. Now that two of us have attended ISU, my mom and stepdad have moved from neutral to season ticket holders and love the Cyclones!

Me too, some sophomore back up runningback from TCU named LaDanian Tomlinson went absolutely ballistic on us. I remember being ****** until he did it to every other team he played over the next 12 years. Been a fan of ISU and LT since.
