I went as an infant in 1963 to Clyde Williams Field. The first I remember was Oct. 1, 1977. My high school football team went up and we played Dayton and won 17 - 13 I think. Vinny Cerrato caught a touchdown right in front of us in the south endzone. The fans threw rolls of toilet paper. With that and the band and the crowd I thought I was at a major big-time college game coming from little Panora, Iowa.

I didn't see a game live until I joined the ISUCF'V'MB in 2000. 25-15 over Ohio.

We went to 3 straight bowl games and then the debacle of 2003 while I was in band.

I can't remember the exact date, but I think it was against K-State in the snow and there was a streaker. Poor bastard, looked cold as hell as he got tackled and slid across the turf, then carried up the hill.

1976 we started getting season tickets - I was 12. We beat Drake 58-14. The next week we won at Air Force, then we beat Kent State at home 47 -7. 3 and 0, I thought Iowa State was the greatest football team in the country. Ended that year 8 and 3 with no bowl. We lost to Okie State on the road the last game of the season, had we won we would have been 9 and 2 and got a bowl bid. Back then there were only about 14 bowl games so it was a huge deal to go to a bowl.

Mine was September 15th, 1979: Iowa State 38, Bowling Green 10.

October 21, 1995. ISU 28 CU 50.

I hate to admit it, but I was a Buff's fan at that time. I was 14 years old and Kordell Stewart Eric Beieney were pretty BA in the early 90's. I didn't have any connection to the university at the time. Now I'm a Cyclone alum along with my older brother and sister.

I remember the week before this game Colorado had been upset by Kansas. Most of the fans in the Jack were chanting Kansas, Kansas, Kansas. I thought it was ridiculous at the time to chant the name of another school when the Cyclones were getting owned, so I started chanting other random college names to the Cyclone fans around me. I started yelling Colgate, Colgate, Colgate! Hard to believe but, there was a male in his 20's a couple rows in front of me that I had not noticed when I started chanting Colgate that was wearing a Colgate letter jacket. He turned around and mean-mugged me. It was classic.

2002 Tech vs. ISU

"The Run"

I was in high school and came up to visit my sister for family weekend. I was already a fan, but that game pulled me in for life.

My wife went to this game when I was deployed to Kuwait. I always talk about how lucky she was to be at that game. She does not remember the play.

First ISU game ever was 1996.... Iowa State vs Nebraska.

We got free tickets from a seed corn rep. I was 16 years old. My dad took me and my two brothers to the game. My little brother had to stop in Carroll on the way to buy a new Nebraska coat for the game. Go figure, now he is a Hawk fan.

It was snowing that day. We sat on the East side. Wind was blowing in our face. We got blown away something like 49-14 I think. I think by the end of the game there was 10,000 people still there and they might of been Nebraska fans.

I still remember a lady in front of us looking at our colored light bulb excuse of a replay board, saying, "Husker Vision is sooo much better. You guys are nothing but a High School team playing in a High School stadium."

From that day on I hated Husker fans. I do have to admit with the snow coming down, the replays on the scoreboard looked much like a tv that loses it's signal and goes fuzzy.

Where did that thing go after it was replaced in 2002... My favorite graphic was the stupid "Key Play" thing.

2002 against Tennessee Tech when i was just about ten. So great of an experience i begged and pleaded to get my parents to let us go to more and eventually that turned into season tickets and i have not missed a game since.

Hey, same as mine! I started ISU in Fall '76. I wasn't much of a football fan, but my roommate was and talked me into getting season ticket. I think it was like $2.00 a game for students. I know I missed the big game against Oklahoma since I went home that weekend.
