I think was Donnie Duncan's first game as coach. I wonder how many people saw that one and thought, "Ah, late-70s promise is going to continue unscathed."
Don't remember for sure but it was likely in the early 90's. My Godparents took me and I've been a Cyclone ever since.
Early 90's against KU when they were ranked around #20. I think Glen Mason was their coach at the time. ISU jumped out to a pretty big lead in the first half and ended up losing as KU made a big 2nd half come back. I think the final was a heart-breaking 48-45 type of score!
Though we lost, I was then hooked for life: even though I was only about 12 at the time.

I was in high school and came up to visit my sister for family weekend. I was already a fan, but that game pulled me in for life.

I have no clue what game it would have been but it was in the 1979 season. Don't remember anything of it as I was 10 months old.
Mine was in 1998 I think. Went to a home game vs Texas Tech and Mizzou. Can't remember which one came first. We lost both of them. In fact I didn't see a cyclone victory until 2000 on the last game of the season against Kansas. The first 5 or so games i went to we lost.
I have a very weak memory of all this. I was like 9 or 10. I remember going to the oklahoma game and they won 31-10. I remember the tech or missouri game when damien goss (I believe) caught a diving touchdown.

I was in grade school, and it was against Colorado, mid-90s. Glancing at the schedule, I'm thinking it was 1995, when we lost 50-28. I remember Colorado scoring a lot. Went with one my friends and his grandpa.
I don't think I made it to another one until I was in high school in 2000. We beat UNLV 37-22. Lane Danielsen, as a freshman, scored on a blocked punt return.
