Coach said Lanning can play winning football in this conference. He has to push positive thoughts. What he did not say is that if Lanning plays at the same level next year the number of victories may not increase. ISU needs improved play at the quarterback position if it wants to be more competitive. Several qbs have been added to increase competition at that position. Hopefully Lanning can improve his play and remain starting qb, but to improve ISU needs improved play at the qb position whether it comes from Lanning or someone else. (all other positions could use an upgrade in play).

I'm all for competition but what am I missing here. Lanning was solid last year as a soph against the big 12 after not getting the majority of 1st team snaps to start the year.

For real is there some video of Park that anyone has seen that makes you think he is by far better than Lanning has already shown let alone if he improves this off season? Or are we just saying all of this because he was highly ranked out of high school...Also his last competitive snaps came 3 years ago in high school.

Not saying he can't be great, just wondering why everyone thinks he is already that much better before he even gets on campus

I would agree with this. It will be either Lanning with Noland being the future OR Park with Noland being the future. Either way - I believe Noland is the best long term guy - he is just too young to be playing Big 12 football right now. Not bad for 3rd or 4th on the depth chart, however. Probably the best 3rd/4th stringer in ISU history ;)

I'm glad he gets this spring in the system and then he will redshirt this season and be 2 or 3 on the depth chart as a rFr.

This staff is going to utilize its best athletes which is why I see both Lanning and Park on the field throughout the season, should be fun to watch.

You'd think DeLira would be interested in some other opportunities. Not sure if he could switch positions or transfer, but I don't see him playing QB here. Buried behind Sam, Joel, and Grant on the depth chart before and Joel has improved while Park has to be the solid #2 guy. If he wants to see the field at QB, it'd likely be somewhere else.

I wish Park was here for spring ball so we could have a real competition between him and Lanning. It's going to be hard for him to push for the starting job coming in this summer IMO.

What does anyone know about Kempt? I'm intrigued by him too.

I think most of it is lip service. I would eat my hat if Park started from day 1. No way that happens.

It always amazes me how willing people are to plug in guys that have never played BCS level football.

So just got done watching 5 hudl videos on Park in high school and then watched a couple of Kempt's...got to say I really like Kempt. I think he is being overlooked because he is a walk on which I don't think will stay that way

Pump the brakes a little bit. The kid is just a redshirt Freshman. Why don't you let his career progress a little before completely writing him off?

Lol what? He's a freshman. Some guys don't play until their junior or senior years. There's plenty guys in college football who barely play their whole 4 years. Do you know how many people are on a roster?

You have to think Dom D would be looking around for a different opportunity sometime.
Dom Deluise is on our team?

He seems like more of a lineman to me.
