Unless the staff is really happy with the on the bench WRs, I would be ok wtih spending more scholarships on a few. It is one position we drastically lack playmakiing ability beyond Darks and Money.

And really, Darks and Money's playmaking has not lived up to the hype (yet). Really, I don't think there is any position that you can say that we don't need big upgrades at, just slightly higher priorities.

He's the real deal. A lot of schools interested. The only reason he has two offers is because most feel he'll end up juco. But if he makes grades could be a serious get for the clones.

We'll get at least one more WR for sure.

Don't count on him ever getting on campus as a Cyclone...grades aren't there to get into school. I wish him luck at some juco though.

Sounds like a future feature back in the making. Welcome aboard Rob! Very excited to see you become the gold Standard at ISU!

We beat Nebby out for a recruit.....but wait!....I thought we couldn't recruit?!?!

This is great news to se that he picked us over nebby. I watch some you tube videos on this kid and he looks legit!

Let me guess, Nebraska fans - you stopped recruiting him? :biglaugh:

I'm very excited with this pickup. He is a game-breaker and is the type of players I love seeing brought into the program. If I'm not mistaken he goes to a private school so they'll put the screws to him, I'm not worried about him qualifying. But guys, you can't be that thick-headed to believe that we actually beat out the nubbies for this guy(well head to head). Anybody who follows recruiting in the slightest knows that nebraska is using their family connection and standing pat until it comes through with aaron green.

My wish list if we use 7 more scholarships:
3 Defensive Linemen
2 Linebackers
1 Offensive Lineman
1 Best player that is either a WR or OL

If Standard is a grade risk, I highly doubt the staff will put all of their eggs in one basket.

This point indicates to me that he isn't as big of a concern as everyone thinks. The fact he set back his announcement also tells me something went down in this period of time.

Yeah, it's pretty funny to watch all of the people beat their chests about this get, like it proves that all is well with the job that this staff has done so far recruiting.

The problem is that these are the same types of kids that have not ever shown up on campus.

The positive is that this is the type of kid that we have to recruit here. And, as you say, IF he is eligible, it's a great signing.

I wonder how many people remember these same types of commits under Mac, and how he was signing 30 + kids, and he would have 20-23 actually show up. This reeks of that.

Hopefully he gets eligible, and appreciates the loyalty this staff has shown to him, and he comes to Iowa State.

Hasn't there already been some attrition since CPR stated that?

Yes, Beau. I forgot about him. My guess is there will be more. I don't know or haven't heard anything but it happens everywhere. My guess is that we will have between 9-12 left when all is said and done.

ANd how big is the downside if he doesn't come? I am comfortable with what we have at RB for next year wihtout him. If this were a QB, or CB or LB or something I would worry but this is an ultra talented kid that would be icing. Like I said earlier, the fact that his announcement was delayed means something happened IMO.

well I do live amongst them, but I'm not a nub. also I should mention I was right. Nebraska picked up Aaron green, and now has shut down their runningback recruiting. We should all :notworthy: that they wont be coming after standard.
