And if you think every athlete is going to work just as hard regardless of having a strength coach take them through an organized workout you couldn't be more wrong. I spoke with our s&c coach at my school this week. Over dead week, finals-which is 2 weeks for us, and the first week of class the lifting was optional per NCAA rules. During those 4 weeks, we had 2 athletes get in 4 lifts. 5 guys that got in 3 lifts. We had 23 guys that didn't get a single lift during that month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And they are all full ride scholarship. Some guys just aren't that willing to make sacrifices.
And, it seems each year we have more and more guys missing lifts, conditioning sessions, and defenetely more and more attitudes and complaining.
