They do a pretty good job of staying balanced. I don't always listen to Fanatics but i really enjoy the cy-hawk reaction on monday for both football and basketball. Today did seem lopsided, at least from 5-5:40 when I was listening. Ross started the first 20 min with Hawkeye talk, then said they'd switch to Cyclones after the break but after Jake talked about ISU for 2 minutes they started taking a bunch of Hawkeye callers. Oh well. Its still worth it just listening to Jake's perspective. The best part of the show was when Jake was on talking about CB in general before 5.

I'll just blame Jared for today's lopsidedness

I think you nailed it that the real “problem” is the callers. I’m pretty inconsistent with listening, but it feels like they just get more Hawk fans that want to hear themselves talk. It was especially bad when I’d catch it for football and you’d get those old dudes rambling on to Long about some random game from his playing days. If I happen to get in the car in time for the first segment where it’s just CW and Ross asking questions, it’s a decent show and pretty balanced.

Today being lopsided was primarily due to the callers. We would get going on the Cyclones then someone would call in and want to talk about Iowa. I'll take the blame though. I know my Iowa takes are hot and need to be heard by everyone across the state. :jimlad:

I've tried to listen to the Sage/Long show too. Really enjoy Sage and Jakes takes along with the hawk guys too. But Anthony and I think Roy or something that call in every show and it's just bad radio. What a waste of broadcast minutes. Why take calls at all. Just don't get it. So however said just don't listen is correct.

Anthony freaking stiffed me when Ross told him to say hi to me the first time he called.

totally agree.. get rid of the callers please and I'd start listening again.. not sure about basketball, but this season I stopped listening to the football one about half way through the season as it was just bad radio. I have better things to listen to than whatever that crap was on a weekly basis.

Let's be honest, the Hawkeyes collapse is a bigger story right now than ISU. Sure, ISU is on a nice win streak but they haven't beat anyone except a struggling Iowa program and a Boise St. team that lost their best player early in the game. There is a lot of promise, but I think most ISU fans are seriously tempering their excitement. That's why you aren't getting a lot of calls on ISU.

I respectfully disagree. What happens is they take those two unbearable callers on every show and then the hosts insist on Sage and Jake's takes on Hawks (Settles and Long spend a fractio n of the time taking Clones if even 1 minute)then they try to take the remaining time and split it. So naturally it's built to be lopsided. Chris is way more interested in Iowa than Ross is ISU so that kinda seals the deal. Can you imagine Ross recording ISU games and watching them like Chris does Iowa games.

Yeah, I was thinking it’d be a lot easier and more entertaining to talk about that Hawks now. You can only talk about Wigginton being great for so many minutes.
