If you sign a employee agreement/contract/company code of conduct you're agreeing to those terms.

Bingo. My employer not only has an annual training course on this but also requires you to disclose relationships such as a spouse, relative, etc. that works for the company too. Basically as long as there is not a conflict of interest where you have a manager/direct report relationship or 1 of your job titles has some kind of oversight or decision making over what the other person's job role is there is no conflict of interest and you are free to date or have a relationship with other employees. Would assume most companies have something similar for a policy too. It's there to protect the company from lawsuits and probably yourself as well.

Guessing whoever Udoka was involved with there probably was some policy that considered it a conflict of interest or possibly required it to be disclosed to be compliant with their HR policies. Maybe more to the story than that too that makes this more complicated but if he knew this relationship was against his employer's policy then they have every right to suspend or terminate him.

unwanted comments, leading to an investigation, replaced by a guy who once choked a woman at a bar win Morgantown, WV. The Internet is totally down for it...

My sons seemed shocked to learn that every female friend and relative I have in my age range was sexually harassed in the workplace, including me.

When I complained to a higher up supervisor, he told me this guy had done this before, they thought he was over it, and they would assign me to projects where I did not have to work with him. He never received any discipline that I was aware of and I eventually learned of four other women he harassed.

My situation was less dire than my sister, who was threatened with put out or get out. Her first job out of college. She tried to quit and when a higher up found out why, they terminated her harasser. He had a history as well.

There are reasons for rules against this crap, the rules are repeatedly disclosed, and people still do it. There may have been a process where the sex would be ok but he apparently did not bother.
pardon?

A process to inform the organization about the sexual relationship with the co-worker and get legal releases signed where they permit them to continue the sexual relationship and their employment. Some employer may do that although it just seems not in the best interest of the employer.

Depends on the situation and policy. In a lot of companies the "violation" or requirement of disclosure is only if you are in a relationship with someone that is below you in the organization. For some it's anybody in the organization. And if it's the latter, they'd probably investigate to see if she was influenced by Udoka to keep it private.

I work for a big company and there was a boss/employee in an undisclosed relationship and both were fired.

People don’t mess around with this anymore.

How you go about it is a big deal. If you're ahead of it, transparent w/ HR vs trying to keep it low key, but getting found out.
In a company I worked for in Ames - HR was the department with the most known affairs. So what could they say!
HR was a dumpster fire

Perrault alert:

Strange. I googled this story two weeks ago and this lady's face popped up. At the time it said she was the wife of a VP of some sort. Hopefully her husband moves on from her and Nia Long moves on from him and they get trustworthy spouses.

Looks like his punishment will end up being named the Nets head coach. Tough but fair.
