I just heard from a somewhat reliable source that sledge has committed. Also, apparently brackins and stinson are both scrimmaging with the team. I really wish it was an open scrimmage

I assume you mean committed to ISU? Hopefully that is true

The brackins and stinson thing sounds awesome. I like that Stinson and Brackins feel connected to ISU. It is important to keep our alumni connected, ex-basketball stars or not!

I sure hope so. Don't throw me under the bus if it turns out to not be true, but that is what I heard. I can't confirm it 100%, but I consider the person who told me to be a fairly reliable source.

I just got off the phone with source who would know...Sledge has not committed to Iowa State as of right now. I think that he will in the coming days but nothing has happened yet. I'm all over this story and will let you know when something new develops.

Sounds encouraging.

Dang, really hoping he had committed. Hopefully he still does.

Any updates? Where is his scholarship coming from? I am wondering if something happened (such as with Dykstra) with Odunsi.

It certainly begs the question of where the scholly will come from. Also, is Paige interested at all? A Sledge commitment doesn't preclude a Paige commitment but it makes me wonder. Especially with Odunsi alread in the fold as well.

I am in favor of recruiting PGs in every single class - you can never have enough.

And I wouldn't spend time worrying about our scholly situation - I'm pretty sure our coaching staff can count to 13, and they know more about each of those 13 than I do, and how likely they are to stay/play/etc.

I hope we land sledge - a 5'9" burner with 40in vertical + a scorers mentality/chip on their shoulder is exactly what we need.

No updates on Sledge as of this morning.

And this is how you get to 5,888 posts? :jimlad:

Side note, I don't feel right using

for basketball posts. We need a basketball equivalent.

It should be Kenny Pratt. His swashbuckling attempt to evade arrest at the Des Moines Dragons' game is reason enough.

How is it possible to have a scholly for Sledge? I'm not complaining here, but how can we actually work him in?

It has to do with Paul Shirley being on academic scholarship ten years ago and CFH cashing in some coupons that were about to expire.
