No he wouldn't. His defenses were trash.

The question is, would he have realized that, found and hired a good DC and let that guy run the show on that side of the ball. Lots of times offensive minds can't make good choices hiring DCs. And vice-versa (exhibit A is Paul Rhoads).

I don't follow NFL, but I have to assume that the success he is having, there must be a top notch DC right?

Oh, so now it's not that Snyder was a wizard but rather that he had superior talent. Gotcha.

You really don't think there is a difference between taking over for a program that had went to a bowl game almost every year for a decade versus taking over at Iowa State?

that's even disrespectful to Fort Dodge...Lubbock is the Council Bluffs of Texas
Too many people on this website have ridiculous opinions of Lubbock. Is it a beautiful, bustling metropolis? No. But at north of 250k population, it would easily be the 2nd largest city in Iowa, and probably the 2nd largest hot spot for jobs, things to do etc. I've never been to Lubbock, but just going off the hard facts I find it humorous that people would compare Lubbock to Fort Dodge (pop. 26000) or Council Bluffs (pop. 62000)

Who cares about population/size of a town?

I gauge it by what Austen Arnaud has said on the radio.

It appears like a lot of things you just don't get the joke.

On the scale of Texas (SanAn/DFW/Austin/Houston/etc), Lubbock seems like it would be a much, much lower tier than other metros around...on top of being in the middle of nowhere.

Arnaud? He probably has been to Lubbock once, and spent his entire stay at a team hotel and football field. I take that with a grain of salt.

This makes sense. Comparing it to much smaller towns in Iowa doesn't.

I kind of get the argument. A 250K pop university town isn't going to be a total wasteland.

That being said, West Texas is one of those places you really have to want to live in.
