Even granting that UI would beat NDSU this year, which I did in my post, you are still hard-pressed to find more than 5 wins with ISUs schedule. If you think UI would only lose to TCU, Baylor, and maybe Oklahoma you truly are too stupid to continue to discuss college football.

My point is that both ISU and UI are completely irrelevant in college football right now, yet you and your brethren continue to think your team matters, and that getting to 7 wins without beating even a mediocre team somehow validates you.

To date I would have IOWA lose to Baylor, and Oklahoma. K State is way over rated. Then I would have them lose to TCU. Thats 3-4 losses at most. IOWA Total Defense #11, Baylor is #19 and K State is #30. Defense wins games..

I beg to differ on irrelevant. IOWA is still in the hunt for the division title, do they get it? I doubt it, but they are relevant.

You just don't understand how bad the teams (with maybe the exception of UNI) are that you've beaten. Really, really, really bad.

Northwestern is 3-6.
Indiana is 3-6
Illinois is 3-6
Pitt is 4-6
Purdue is 3-7
Ball State is 3-7 (remember that thrilling win?!?)

Iowa is not a good football team. They lost to Iowa State and it was not really a fluke. Hell, Iowa's schedule is so bad that they really haven't lost to a great team yet.

Iowa would lose to Iowa State, TCU, Texas, Kansas State, Baylor, Oklahoma (with the original QB), maybe Oklahoma State, West Virginia.

Only because they have played ONE good team so far this entire year. ONE.

Iowa is lucky and fortunate to play in the dumpster fire that is the Big 10 West. They are additionally fortunate to play a joke of a schedule in the Big 10 West. I am extremely envious of Iowa for that reason. I would trade places with you in a heartbeat. But it does not change the fact that your schedule is a joke and your team has yet to compete with a good team.

Lighten up on hokedup. His debating skills are recognized far and wide. In fact, his fellow hoks have deemed him a master at his craft, which puts him on equal footing with them.

You do know ISU and Northwestern were the only teams IOWA played with a losing record at the time of play right?? ISU had Texas and KU with losing record..

You all are giving the Big 12 way too much. There isnt a whole lot different between the two the conference rankings are
Southeastern 14 85-47 (64%) 42-4 (91%) 33.66 57.811
2 Pacific-12 12 70-45 (61%) 30-5 (86%) 31.30 54.885
3 Big 12 10 53-39 (58%) 22-8 (73%) 29.64 55.953
up.gif
4 Big Ten 14 79-53 (60%) 40-14 (74%) 28.73 55.414
down.gif
5 Atlantic Coast 14 80-58 (58%) 36-14 (72%) 28.69 56.222
6 Independents 4 19-18 (51%) 18-17 (51%) 25.32 53.026
7 Mountain West 12 60-56 (52%) 27-23 (54%) 22.40 50.578

You couldnt even beat KU, who has an interim coach. There is a reason you guys are ranked so low #103. You all need to wake up look at stats, rankings and such and see how bad you are. IOWA has its bad areas, but #11 Defense keeps you in a whole lot of games. Plus I cant remember when IOWA gave up 1300 total yds to 2 teams like you did with Oklahoma and KU. KU was a last place team...

ISU sucks this year. Nobody is denying that. Iowa just isn't as good as their record may appear. Sorry.

I'm not comparing conferences. I'm comparing ISUs schedule to UIs. UI has beaten NOBODY with a pulse. LOL on record at the time of play. That's a great indicator 4 or 5 games in when every power 5 team has played 3-4 cupcakes.

Iowa being relevant by being in the hunt for your crappy division's title? Congrats, you have played the perfect bottom feeder schedule and still have your two toughest games to go. Win both of those to make the conf. title game, feel free to come back and I'll eat crow.

Iowa State would have the exact same record with Iowa's schedule. UNI is better than us....Forget the frustration with Hok logic.....the cause of the frustration is our program not being able to make a bowl. And 76 teams make bowls! 76 teams!

Sorry you're real team lost again today.

Those goddamned teams with pulses just throw off all kinds of balance in that **** show.

But there's no reason to come on here and take out your frustrations about how unfair it is to play competitive teams.

i am not going to read this whole thread, but based on the first few pages, people seem to be crediting a weak schedule when it comes to minnesota's success

i would contend that kill has them to the point that they are no longer "the weak schedule" referred to by other teams. who cares if minnesota is better or worse than ISU or how we would do with their schedule. it doesnt matter. you play to hand you are dealt. we know exactly who we have to play every year and we should be running the program to beat those teams instead of caring what happens elsewhere.

baylor, TCU, TTU, WVU are not exactly historically awesome. why doesnt our staff do what was done at some of those schools and elevate the program to where WE are "the tough schedule" that those schools talk about. or, better yet, find a staff that isnt resigned to ISU being a doormat. college sports are very cyclical and it doesnt take a miracle to see improvement quickly.
