Well. I went and got one and am typing this message from it. So far I absolutely love it. Definitely glad I got one.

I got an iPad 2 for Christmas, and I wouldn't consider the new one worth it for me. It's not like the screen on the iPad 2 isn't pretty damn good. Best device I've ever had, and it's really starting to replace my laptop whenever I'm going mobile.

This guy agrees. Need to wade through the first 1:30 or so (kinda funny):

I just can't justify the price on any of these. Maybe I'll wait a year until Apple comes out with another iPad and get an older model. For some reason I think that every version of the iPad is only a baby step for the increase in price. People get way to enticed by always having the "best" or "newest" and Apple thrives on it; even if that means all they do is upgrade the resolution of the screen and add a couple bells and whistles.

And some of us can justify the price. You can probably get a Xoom or playbook cheap. Of course, they suck, but the price would be right for you.

Anyone with an ipad 3 having some over heat issues? I have been reading some articles here and there about it running pretty hot.

Mine is fine. I believe the Consumer Reports article also said that even though it was warm it was not a problem.

I love the new dictation feature.

This is true for any product ever made. You never want the first one off the line. Let the manufacturers figure out how stuff should go together correctly before you get one.

The first Chevy Volt started on fire, not good to always get the newest thing.

What's up Richy Rich? I never stated that I couldn't afford it, just said that I couldn't justify having one. I will stick to a fully functional laptop for $500 because I don't need to act, respond and look like an apple owning ****.

It's interesting how everyone wants everything on the web to be free, but they freak out about privacy. The ads on this site (or any site) are capable of gathering better info about you than the stuff most people would dictate on an iPad.

It really depends on what you're e-mailing.

That's why I said "the stuff most people would dictate on an iPad". I'd be way more concerned about all the info people freely give out to Facebook than anything. For most people Google, Microsoft, or Yahoo already have all of their emails. Who cares if Apple has a few of them dictated.

I have an iPad 2, I would bump up to a new one if I had the need, I just thought it bore pointing out. You don't have to agree! IMO, I don't know why they didn't just fully integrate Siri.

I've never quite understood the privacy thing either. Where I don't like people storing all my information on their server for some hacker to get at eventually, it is a trade off for instant information. Being online is kind of like being in public, it really isn't private. I've always just assumed everything I punch in on the web is stored somewhere, we have archives here as well, don't we?

Yeah it's good to know where your data is. Most people don't. Siri is in the cloud also.

Exactly. Just assume everything you do on the web could be made public. With hacking you might as well add computer and phone. Even if you ran your own email server at home the email goes over the web in plaintext and the recipient is probably on a Google, Microsoft, or Yahoo server so they get to see the email anyway. Corporations and Universities are moving to the cloud also.
