Allen was OK today, was 6-11 from the field and didn't turn it over much. McGee is instant energy off the bench, a great role for him. Loved the win today, now let's sweep the Horns!

Losses in early November don't carry as much weight as ones in January, February and March.

No one has claimed otherwise.

At the end of the year, we will likely be on the bubble. Still time and games to play our way off it, but I do not think we will. Given that assumption, the Drake and UNI losses are big.

Conference games being more important does not mean those are not bad losses. When you are likely to be on the bubble, all losses have huge opportunity costs, especially losing to MVC teams. You have a much, much better chance to reach the tournament with a .500 conference record if you turn two losses to average MVC teams to wins.

As long as Drake and UNI keep their RPI's above 100 they're not "Bad Losses" according to the selection committee. It's frustrating that we lost those games, and we'd be in a lot better shape with an 15-3 record. But those two losses look a lot worse to ISU fans than they do to the people making decisions.

Not what I was talking about. Nevertheless, there is a good chance UNI and Drake will not be in the RPI top-100 at the end, and even if they do, could still be listed as bad losses.

The 2010-11 Colorado Buffaloes disagree.

I thought Allen was exactly what we need him to be today. He played under control, and seemed to take most shots within the offense.

I really don't think it will matter if we take care of business and have a winning record in the Big 12. The human element of the selection process will realize that this is virtually a brand new team that took a while to get it together. No way this team loses those games now.

Agree. I thought Allen played well today.

I was shocked that he only had 11 with 5 to play. I was thinking he was having a phenominal game. But it doesn't take much to make it a really good game when he limits the stupid shots. I only really remember one play where I was annoyed with him today. He made the layup too, so I can't complain too much and really not at all for the game. I thought the blow by layup he had was the only "poor decision" that we woulda paid for if we were playing anyone but tech.

Allen played a much smarter game today. Had better shot selection and it paid off.
One of his best games as a cyclone. I think he can be what we need if works at being where he is supposed to be and playing the d he is capable of. Then when the points come to him he is so much more smooth.

Usually, He tries to do too much. If he realizes how unselfish the rest of the guys are and lets it come to him he can be what we need.

Didn't CU have a loss in March last year to the last place big 12 team? That's a bad loss that kept them out of the tournament. ISU avoids that, they should be able to win 6 more games and then a tournament game and be dancing in March. Very realistic at this point.
