Yesterday during the game I actually found myself flipping back and forth from Texas/KU to Duke/FSU. Since when could I miss a few possessions of an ISU bball game and not be worried lol. I was almost bored during the game, no wonder we never blow anybody out! We keep it close to keep the fans interested! :jimlad:

From what I've heard and read from "the experts", a team's record over its final ten games has the most bearing on whether it goes dancing or not. Games in Nov. are discounted unless it was a win over a top ten team, or a loss against a bottom ten team. Neither UNI or Drake fall into those two categories and those losses won't count a whole lot against the Cyclones. At least not enough to counter the weight of playing in the Big 12 conference even in a down year. The win against Texas, IMO, counts more than the loss vs. Drake. If ISU doesn't make the NCAA tourney, it will be due to factors besides the UNI and Drake games.

I need someone to back me up on this, but I think about 4 years ago the committee explicitly stopped putting an emphasis on a team's last 10 games. I'm not sure where to go to look that up.

They did. Wasn't sure how many seasons ago, but they dropped it (after it had gone from last-10 to last-12 for a couple of years)
