Are you really a coach? Some people bball IQ really shows sometimes. This is not the answer. Yes there are times you can make it a nightmare, but a lot of times during the season you can't. You do this you won't have any players available to play come game time, and half your team is gone from transfers. I'm not saying you can't ever do it, but every day? Come on!! Lets get realistic.

Take it easy on them, that always transfers well... If you let up, it will come back and haunt you. Floyd used to yell at guys for not switching practice jerseys fast enough... I don't know the atmosphere lately, but I am guessing it is as relaxed as we tend to play. I know it was pretty relaxed when I saw it early last season.
I am just saying with kids, and yes they are kids, you get exactly what you expect from them, and if they bail because you are too tough than you screwed up recruiting them in the first place. I think the folks that think McD got messed up by the Wesley thing I am sure it did, then HB not coming, now his best recruit unhappy... You can't be buddies with kids they will break your heart...
I do hope McD turns this thing, he does work hard, I just wish he could get the kids to work hard in the games.

I agree with this...not necessarily running them to death with suicides that I've read a hundred times over today. You can be hard on them, but not necessarily have to work them to death. That I can completely agree with.

Yeah, named Jim Boeheim with Carmelo Anthony, Frank Martin at Kansas State with Beasley, Calipari with Rose and Wall.

What do all these players have in common? Hmmmmmm I wonder...

Brackins is a first team NBa pick, and with a better coach Wesley Johnson is going to be a first-team all-american this year.
I think a fairly decent coach would have managed to have at the least a winning season with these two as freshmen.
Just a little old winning season. I'm not saying a league title, or a national title.
But give a coach those two talented players and a winning season is a sure thing.
But not our Mcdermott.
I guess our Mcdermott would have needed five all-americans to have a winning season.

Wesley was half-crippled that sophomore season by injury. Brackins had trouble adjusting for a lot of his first season, you know, being a freshman, and a normal (though talented) one. So, think what you want. This is America, and you're free to be wrong. Again. Don't worry, we're used to it.

I love how Wesley was half-crippled now, when he was here.
Mcdermott has more talent now than he will ever have and he still can't compete with any good teams we play.

Things aren't going to change in hilton until JP goes out and hires a coach the caliber of Morgan???certainly not!!!!

Lets start over ...a coach the caliber of Orr..Floyd...or Eustachy!!!!

You obviously didn't pay any attention to the team that year. There was a constant discussion of Wesley's injury and even a lot of discussion from the coach about redshirting.

Then he took a year off and got healthy.

Funny how that works.

Then why the hell was he even playing that year?

Help me get this straight....

We lose to the 5th ranked team in the nation, one guy gets called out and now the whole world is falling apart?

Hmmm...

Half crippled? So had he been fully healthy would he have run away faster?

Excellent post as always. But do you really think JP can hire a coach better than the ones he fires by paying them off with our money? Keep in mind that the guy that spent $1.5 million to fire Morgan and replace him with McDud also pulled off these coups:

Let KJ Kindler and her winning record go to Oklahoma.

Fired Bobby Douglas so we could train Penn State's future wrestling coach for them.

Brought us Gene Chizik and signed us up for 2 more years before Auburn bailed him out.

With a track record like that, what chance do we have???
