i actually like ecu, big school, good facilities, great growth potential...if b12 cared about long term they would listen to them and new mexico...in ten years they would be on equal footing...but i highly doubt anyone in big 12 has any ling term view...people forget lville, south florida, and cinncy were all non bcs football recently...now everyone wants them...b12 money would greatly increase any non bcs fanbase overnight... but thw aholes in the b12 south are never going to see that

Also, I'm not sure what people have against ECU. Have you seen their facilities? They are BCS worthy. They have a better stadium than about half the Big East and maybe than us.

Capacity of 50K with an approved upgrade to 58K plus a new press tower.

I think we might have got to our seats right as the game was kicking off. I heard all about the cavalry thing, but never saw it.

As with most everything else in Aggieland...

They also fill it up, and we would be adding a large market. I think they're far and away the class of C-USA.

I have nothing against ECU but they are the 3rd, if not 4th tier team in North Carolina behind UNC, Duke and Wake Forest. So, really how many TV sets are we adding with their addition and does it makes sense geographically?

Future expansion
East Carolina has received permission from the North Carolina General Assembly to plan a new pressbox and upper deck on the south side of the stadium. This expansion will increase seating to 58,000.[8

Their average attendance is slightly less than Duke and Wake Forest COMBINED.

They are behind UNC and NCSU in terms of attendance, and are WAY ahead of Duke and WF.

After they renovate, they will be ahead of NCSU and just behind UNC in terms of attendance. Sleeping giant.

Well, I know there is an ISU grad who works for google. If he is watching this, he should make it so.

Edit: And maybe your googlefu isn't strong enough? Try searching for this.

I do think about long term planning but ECU? What I enjoy about our current conference alignments are the rivalry's and the geographically co-located schools. So adding ECU, which is the farthest east you can go in the U.S. to a conference that is in the mid-west is just stupid.

Looking long term, at up and coming teams and looking from lower tier conferences, then we need to look at teams such as Cinci and Tulsa or to the indepedent schools like BYU and ND.
