I agree 100%. Even if the deal holds up now, if that new deal doesn't look good to some teams, they'll be trolling for dollars again.:yes:
Here is what I think a part of OU's holdup may be:
They're not too crazy about going through all this again in 2015. If they decide they want the Big 12 to stick together for them, they want it to stick for the long haul. That means
1. some sort of legally binding concessions about HS games/highlights on the Horn network
2. a reasonable confidence that the Big 12 will attract 1-3 quality teams (which would've been a lot easier if they wouldn't have opened their mouths but worked all their concerns out behind closed doors)
3. Perhaps most importantly of all, something that legally binds the rest of the league of 9 together because they know Mizzou or whoever else wants to leave when the Big 10 sets its sights on expansion 2015....However, Oklahoma knows if they sign this now, then they won't be able to leave later either. So they really have to decide long term if this is where they want to be.
