I totally agree why would JP not want more money for the AD budget, money is what it is all about now and hopefully establishing some new rivals and bringing excitement back. To me that is just a good pr move on his part as that is what any of us should say if we were in his shoes.we will not stay at 10, JP is using AD speak, as he should
One high-level Big 12 source said, "I think we'll end up at 12 and a half - to start with." That source speculated Florida State and Clemson could end up in the Big 12 or Florida State and Louisville after the very intense flirtation between the BIg 12 and Louisville when West Virginia was ultimately selected. Notre Dame would be the "half"in that equation until it's ready to give up its independence in football.
can somebody give me an update on the big east who are the new teams for football next year.

For my money, I really don't care about getting Notre Dame, especially as a partial member.
if the big XII snags a couple more teams from either conference the most sensible thing for both those conferences to do is merge. Then there would be a great lakes conference, a east conference, a southeast conference, a continental conference (big 12), and a west conference. Almost makes too much sense...Next Year: Temple2013: Boise St, San Diego St, SMU, Houston, Memphis, Central Florida2015: NavyThat is if it doesn't all collapse sometime soon...Boise and San Diego State are getting cold feet. And if the FSU/Clemson thing happens then the Big East will lose 2 more to the ACC.can somebody give me an update on the big east who are the new teams for football next year.
I don't mind ND getting an invite but its all or nothing. None of this partial membership crap.
In chip brown's latest:
Don't like. Get all in or all out. Especially if theyd be taking one of the conference's bowl slots. ND is a great brand, but it seems some are willing to give a lot more than its worth to get them, as if theyre still worth what they were 20 years ago.
If WVU is the school pushing for expansion in the Big 12, would they now perhaps be pushing for VT? That's a rivalry I'd like to see restored:

I have yet to read any speculation regarding this.

That would make sense. Gives the B12 time to pick the 14th after the dust settles as well.
Not good. Basically the same **** they pulled on us back in the Big East 2 decades ago.
The absolute only thing I can think of with this is that it's to allow time (they're basically booked solid through 2016) to clear out some of the junk from their schedule. After that it should be easy enough to manage, but that's still a lot of time to wait and a chance that they can do exactly the same crap they did when the joined the Big East back in the mid 90s for their other sports. Keep their independence in football with an agreement to play a certain number of Big East teams each year, then end up breaking that anyway.
I would not have a problem with ND as a non- football member in 2013-2015 if they agreed UP FRONT to become a full member in 2016.
