I think this year all that happens is FSU & Clemson to Big 12. ND may move Olympic Sports to ACC or Big 12 in same arrangement they had with Big East.

Other than that, I think everyone stays pat at 12 teams, and SEC at 14.

You never know, but this year feels different from the past two.

A lot of talk today on Paul Finebaum about the SEC going to 16. It sounds like they would want VTech and UNC (or maybe NCState). The SEC also announced their new conference network through... ESPN.

My guess is the Big XII and SEC go to 16 before the others. It wouldn't surprise me if the two conferences had an arrangement in place already (maybe with ESPN). SEC takes VTech and UNC. Big XII takes FSU, GTech, NCState (or UNC), Clemson, ND, and Louisville.

I also think the SEC is eyeing VPI and UNC, although it's pure speculation. Those schools just make too much sense for the SEC not to pursue them.

If the Big 12 went to 16, who would you want as the final team? Louisville, Virginia, Maryland, Pitt, or someone else?

At this point, do louisville and pitt excite anyone??? certainly not me. If we get ND, FSU, Clemson, and ?, then I would add UVA, Maryland, NCSt (assuming NC and VT go SEC) or other state schools first.

NC State would be a pretty amazing addition and a lot of TV sets. I'd take'm.

Appears to me the SEC and Big 12 already know how this is all going to work out, watch for the Big 10 to soon get back in the mix - if they could sway a Missouri, it puts the Big 12 and SEC back as competitors for the remaining cards to stack their decks and its back to square 1. Pac 12 really has no say in this round. They can have BYU and Boise or anyone else they can find west of the Big 12's footprint,

Aww yeahh boyeeeee!!

What I am being told this evening is that ND is close to working out a plan with the B12 where they come in Olympic only for two full seasons and then they will be our full 13th member by 2016 with another school not determined yet.
FSU and Clemson are set to join for 2014 but maybe 2013 if possible.
Likely to have the 2 Kansas schools and ISU in our division
ND joining in Olympic only will get every school at least a 1 million dollar bump per year-more to come when they join in all

Looking like with the 12.5 configuration each school stands to make about 24 million per year.

At this point it looks like FSU and Clemson to get back to 12. The 10 billion dollar question is what would ND need in order to commit to a conference affiliation. One of its natural rivals like Pitt or GT? If that's what it takes then they get the invite.

If ND were to come, they may make us take Pitt too, even tho done wouldn't want them. I think they have a rivalry if I remember right. They would want to keep some rivalries.
Fsu, Clemson, GT, and Louisville would be a great start, then wait n see on ND.

Is it just my perception that has changed, or has the media been much more silent about all the rumors this time around? With Nebraska and CU it was a sudden thing. With Missouri both times and A&M it was rumors for a long time, but rumors all over the media. Ditto with Big 12 South to the Pac 16 that never happened.

IMHO the media has been pretty poor both times around. I think a lot of the east coast media tend to downplay what they dont want to happen this time around (they want the ACC to live), but they certainly had their faults last time around too. Remember when the media bought the SEC's invite non-denial of TAMU (even reporting it as rejecting them) hook line and sinker?
