According to the guy in Rockman's link (Eerlaw11), OU and Texas no longer have an issue with being in separate divisions.

Unfortunately, It looks like Eerlaw11 has moved on due to a classic case of,..... if you don't like the message, kill the messenger.
Too bad as he probably could have provided some more decent info.

Saw that too. Shame.

Lots of whiny OU fans over there too.

Nobody is moving anywhere. I bet round robin will be the case next year and the next year possibly. Im ok with it. BIG XII will be 10 strong for the next year and will repeat this realignment again next year. FSU played this game very well and will get money from the ACC schools just to stay intact. Little do they know that the ACC is the last man out. Had your chance FSU, you dropped the ball.

We are all waiting to see how the BCS shakes out. $2M in funny money will not stop the train.

$1.6 m vs. $10 m - Yes that is going to keep FSU in the ACC. :jimlad: Listening to the mainstream media will only give you the wrong answers. They have no idea what they are talking about because they are afraid to dig beyond the surface when reporting. They ask the leaders questions and take it as gospel. Nothing that is being reported on the surface has any validity. The Mizzou and A&M saga taught us that.

Apparently there is a lot of discord within the FSU administration. Looks like this is giving the Big XII some pause. When this power struggle at FSU plays out we will have our answer. If their prez stays....they stay. If he gets relieved.....they join us. August 15th is only a couple months away. It will be tough to meet that deadline, even if it is to move. 10 is good, but their addition would have been better.

I really doubt Barron is going anywhere. He just got a raise from the BOT.

It's beginning to look like FSU is just playing everyone to get an even better seat at the table in their conference. Their loss.

Agreed. While the ACC claims that it just distributed excess cash that would have have been given to the schools, there's no discussion anywhere that I can find that details that all the ACC schools recevied an excess 1.6 MM. This article has a quote from an ACC rep, but it stops short of saying all schools received a little extra

Guess Bowlsby knew what he was talking about after all.
Care to elaborate on this comment?

Just the fact that he and Pollard both made the comment about staying at 10 teams. But that was around the time FSU and Clemson were rumored to heading to the big 12, yet almost everyone thought they knew more and thought they were coming anyways.

That still doesnt mean anything. From day 1 its been said that we wouldnt hear much officially until after the BCS meetings and Bowlsby officially taking the job. Almost every comment from FSU\Clemson has left the door wide open to realignment without openly saying it (for legal reasons). Just because we've hit a quiet period in leaks doesnt mean the movement behind the scenes has stopped.

The silence is even more incriminating than rumors, IMO; to me, it means that the FSU/Big 12 brass "plugged the leak" (i.e., shut up whoever was letting information get to the press).

This......
Lots being said by not being said.

My guess is they are taking a 30 day break (think last info supplied was around memorial day) to "break" the active chatter chain so they (BigXII and 'future' members) can say there was no active subterfuge involvement and avoid the Baylor type lawsuit that about happen with the BigXII break up (that and make sure the new membership happens). Im gonna put my over/under on July 15.

But remember, the OU/TX Pac16 thing was well over 90% a done deal when somehow that miraculously tank and put us in our equal revenue kick *** current situation.

The more this goes on the more I'm starting to not like the idea of going to 12 or more. Though the money would be good I think that it might be a bad idea.

I'm going to be happy either way. Stay at 10: less competition then having FSU and Clemson, still have round robin style play and play every team
Go to 12: ISU plays in Florida every 4 years, more money, conference championship again.

There's pros and cons of both. But the thing that is the best, Iowa State is now in a stable conference. I didn't believe this until the Big 12 and SEC began the "champions" bowl together.
