We can't forget that the NCAA offers eligibility to those high school players going into college. It would be very easy for them to say that students are not eligible who participated in these football games being televised on LHN. Let ESPN televise them all they want but the students who are playing those games then don't get to go play college football. You would have a lot of high schools not wanting to participate and a lot of parents freaked out about Johnny's future playing college football. NCAA has power, make no mistake.

NO...people need to quit saying this. LHN is owned and operated by ESPN...not the University of Texas. There is a big difference.
This. That is why texas has a contract with ESPN to get $11 million a year from ESPN while ESPN runs it. Cyclones.TV on the otherhand is owned and operated by Iowa State University

By that logic Texas would have completely signed away the rights to their logo and name. So ESPN could put topless beach volleyball on the Longhorn Network and UT wouldn't have a say.

Little to no chance Texas completely signed away BEVO and the trademarks. However, topless volleyball could expand the channel on the cable platforms

I would petition my cable provider for a network that showed the girls of the University of Texas playing topless beach volleyball. They are missing an opportunity here.

I think we've finally figured out how we could fund the south endzone.

Just heard that ND is going to the ACC as a partial member. Looks like Tejas and Big XII got played. IF true, the good news the ACC has ND-partial and all their problems that will ensue. I just hope we did not screw up FSU & Clemson, but I fear we may have.

If this keeps us from getting FSU\Clemson, Dodds just caused the big 12 to have egg on its face for the 3rd summer in a row.

Latest rumor now from the WVU boards is that the ACC had the meeting today to extend an invitation to WVU before it joins the Big 12. I'm not sure what those guys are smoking over there...but I want some.

I spend a fair amount of time over there. The entertainment factor is off the charts. Those guys have about lost it the last couple days.

FSU and Clemson weren't going anywhere until they knew for sure what ND was going to do. If ND joins the ACC and if the ACC TV revenue shares for FSU and Clemson get into the ballpark of what SEC schools are making, then both will stay put. Don't blame Dodds for that.

If ND joins the ACC as a partial member, ND could still do a Tier 1 deal with NBC as a FB indy. If that happens, I doubt ESPN will raise the ACC contract to SEC levels just for a couple of ND road games at ACC venues. As a result, there is still strong potential that FSU and Clemson will go to the B12.

I really hope the B12 makes a strong push for FSU and Clemson. Their fans seem to be of the same opinion - and like A&M and MooU, the fans can push things into gear when they may have stayed put.

Things are getting back to normal around the Big 12.
only on the message boards -- nothing wrong within or across the conference ....... people going ape**** over unsubstantiated (and likely false) rumors --- that idiot on the WVU board has not been right yet, think i'll chill

if there really is a meeting, which i doubt, could it be a desperation move by ACC to try and get ND before big xii. Nobody was "played"
