Last night was fun because:

1) It was the first time in awhile we didn't feel painfully thin. With McKay and Hallice playing well, we could afford to have Dule and Burton struggle.

2) The emotion seemed way, way better. The guys were much more fired up, and it started with Prohm. He was as animated as I've seen.

Also, Matt Thomas is getting close to "I'm surprised if he misses one" territory. However this year winds up, he's been great.

I'm waiting for the NCAA tourney. All the rest is just practice. Saturday we had a good day of practice.

I think some of the negative Nancy's read a bit much into my excitement. I hope this is more like the team play we see going forward. I'm not sure it is, but it was nice to see Jameel run the floor and play with energy and Hallice play decent. If Nader and Burton level out a bit (they will), all the better. On the other hand, if Prohm sees the need to play Ashton decent minutes then nothing has changed. I don't blame coach, or the seniors, I'm just surprised by the home losses and losing to Tech. I thought this team had moved beyond that. It's almost March.

Agree with all of this. Last night was good because it showed us the team that we hoped we'd get in the second half; the team that has a chance to make a Final Four run. And last night wasn't perfect for everyone, anyway (see Nader and Burton, who were due to cool off for a night).

If MT is lights out, Nader is Good Nader, Jameel and Hallice are playing like that, and Burton lets the game come to him and throws it down a few times, then we will win (because Georges will be Georges and Monte will be Monte).

Just like KenPom now shows, and like we saw last night, Iowa State has the best offense in college basketball. And that means that if you are on, you can be in any game.

Didn't you guys play Kansas State at home yesterday?
