To be clear, this weekends game will be the first time Iowa (coaches and athletes) will wave to the kids? Opposing teams, opposing coaches, referees all wave.... but not the Iowa team.

This entire time, all this publicity, all this concern if we will wave from Ames..... the Iowa team doesn’t wave??

#EntitlementCity #EntitledFamily #WeekOfBadPress

Unfortunately this puts doubt as to why it started.

Why?

The idea sprouted from an Iowa fan posting on Facebook about it to the Hawkeye Heaven FB page, who then promoted it all summer. The Iowa football program had nothing to do with the creation of The Wave.

Your first paragraph is, this is the first game the Iowa team/staff will wave.

It was the same FB page, Hawkeye Heaven, that pushed for ISU fans to wave from Ames. So again, not initiated in any way by the football program.

Just looking forward to the next Iowa topic that produces a bunch of faux outrage on these boards.
Well, let's drill down on that a bit. We were told during Iowa's bye week that we should do the wave from our game at Jack Trice, you know, for the kids, because we're all Iowan, right? So where do you Hawkeyes get off telling us we're kid haters because we didn't see the point, when your own damn team and coaching staff can't be bothered. So yeah, I don't really think "faux" applies here.

Do they benefit, even indirectly, from the national publicity? Did they wave from Michigan?

So did they just not notice what was going on?

Behind you
Anyone else tired of hearing about "the wave?"

Its a great thing and all, but I'm tired of that school pimping every single bit of publicity from it. They are using it to promote themselves, not the good hearted nature of the act.

Maybe a little, but that's not really how it works. Media catches wind of a story like this and run each other over trying to get to the UI to put their own take on the story and string together the most tear-jerky piece on it they can. And in most cases the journalists who flock to IC are doing it to build an award-worthy reel to include with their resume. Of course the UI loves the attention. But it's not like they're out there pitching the story. Media outlets and the journalists who work there are actually the ones pimping the story for their own purposes.

And in the end, Tom Cruise was right. We live in a cynical world.

You Hawkeyes...
Surely you don't think you're the only Hawkeye troll on this board, or even on this thread. Like I said, you don't do naive well, troll.

I didnt read any comments of the like from any Hawkeye "trolls" on this board or in this thread.

Are you saying Iowa is now going to wave to sick kids because of the "faux outrage" that was posted on Cyclone Fanatic? That is literally the most little brother thing I've ever heard

Thats not what I am saying.

This is like the 3rd topic related to the Hawks that has generated faux outrage from ISU fans in the past few months. Cant wait to see what is next.
