Extremely unlikely, but that sure would be something.

I'll say that the sheer number of young players getting reps certainly bodes well for the future. Hell, I think it's a big reason as to why we started off rocky and then have started to level the plane a bit. Nate getting comfortable as a play caller has certainly helped as well.

My prediction:
Baylor - W
KU - W
BYU - L
Texas - W
KSU - L
7-5 going to the liberty bowl
I would take those results a heartbeat. Would be so nice to send Texas off with an L!! I really hope the Jack is loud for that game regardless. of the team's record at the time. Could be playing for bowl eligibility that game.

The reason it's not completely crazy is this is the first year in FOREVER that the Big 12 is just not very deep at football. It's 1-2 elite teams and then a huge group of about 8 teams that might be good or might barely make a bowl. Almost any other year by this point you've got 4-6 programs well on their way to a bowl, if not ranked.

Why would anyone speak of these chances?

The league has 2 teams ranked. And we aren't receiving any votes while alone in 2nd place. One of the teams we handled is getting votes. Not sure why TCU isn't getting any votes either. I guess voters just see that we both have 3 losses.

This team is way too young to expect anything. So please don't come after Campbell if we win one of the next three games.

Exactly. Texas is going to be a very, very tough game. I see a lot of people picking us in that game. I hope there’s not a meltdown if we’re not able to pull that one out (like against Iowa).

I’d really like to snag 2 of the next 3 and secure bowl eligibility before the Texas, KSU finish.

He already won't win for 2 weeks. I'm after him already.

But going into the bye week there is a path to the Big 12 title game. Humor me for a min, but right now ISU has the best loss in the conference (at OU). If they can find a way to beat Baylor they have a real chance. KU is very good team with their quarterback and not a very good team without him. BYU and KState are VERY up and down. And they get Texas in Ames in the middle of November ( probably at night) so who knows what the weather could be. But if they beat Texas they could lose a game somewhere else and still have a tiebreaker over Texas. And Texas has tough games with Texas Tech and a KState team that plays them very well.

I’m just saying…..

I'll give you this: The backdoor can sometimes be the best!

We got throttled by OU just a few weeks ago. Think I would maybe pump the brakes on this a bit, although it is fun and I hope it happens!

Going into the season had someone told you that ISU would be 4-3 after 7 games I bet we all would have been happy, but, I bet we all would have assumed 3-0 non-conference and 1-3 in the Big 12. The real 4-3 is much much better than that. That being said, one game at a time. This young team can’t look ahead at all. Every game left is winnable and every game is losable
I think i would take the 3-0 non con just so we would have the W over Iowa and avoid the shame of the Ohio loss. And then a win vs OSU but losses to Cincy, TCU and Oklahoma. I realize the conference wins mean more, but the Iowa and Ohio losses cut deep.
