I think i would take the 3-0 non con just so we would have the W over Iowa and avoid the shame of the Ohio loss. And then a win vs OSU but losses to Cincy, TCU and Oklahoma. I realize the conference wins mean more, but the Iowa and Ohio losses cut deep.
I would rather be seeing a very young, inexperienced team getting progressively better like we are now.

I honestly don’t even care to think about it yet. If by the grace of god we get Texas at home with each having 1 loss in the conference I will start to think about it. And how insane would that game be!
Agreed. With the additive of “If UTerus loses another game before their game with ISU; I predict they will “not show up” for their final trip to Ames.

I would love to see them give up during a cold November game in Ames, IA.

Basically, beat texas and go 3-1 against the others and it is like 90% you go play in Jerryworld.

None of thats a gimmie, but its not fantastically impossible either.

Go Clones!

Beating Texas, then breating OU in the title game sending those 2 **** sticks out of the B12 would be greatest thing that could happen to me. I might take that scenario over a NC.

Probably right.

Speaking of that though, what has happened to Baylor?
I am hoping they are regressing to the middle or bottom half of the conference. And stay there.

Any of the new Big 12 teams could do this really. Any of the new Big 12 teams could be top half also. Parity.

It will take a few years to see who the top half or the top third of our conference will consistently be.

Keep dreaming. Nothing wrong with that. It could happen. Chances pretty slim, but it could happen.

I would love that!

Exactly. Texas is going to be a very, very tough game. I see a lot of people picking us in that game. I hope there’s not a meltdown if we’re not able to pull that one out (like against Iowa).

I’d really like to snag 2 of the next 3 and secure bowl eligibility before the Texas, KSU finish.
I don't think many are really picking us vs Texas, but our hearts are speaking. There won't be a meltdown.

But this is CF, so... LOL

But going into the bye week there is a path to the Big 12 title game. Humor me for a min, but right now ISU has the best loss in the conference (at OU). If they can find a way to beat Baylor they have a real chance. KU is very good team with their quarterback and not a very good team without him. BYU and KState are VERY up and down. And they get Texas in Ames in the middle of November ( probably at night) so who knows what the weather could be. But if they beat Texas they could lose a game somewhere else and still have a tiebreaker over Texas. And Texas has tough games with Texas Tech and a KState team that plays them very well.

I’m just saying…..
Texas seems to get a lot of 11am games.

It's possible. But a team this young has a couple more losses in them. Texas is more likely to be a heartbreaker.

I can't see TX being a Heartbreaker unless we lose on the last play. If we win great but lose by more than a score, meh we weren't supposed to beat them anyway.

Cold November night game means more rushing than passing or kicking....we'll see how the mean 5 stars push against our 3-D spring printers. I love the TX and OU win out scenario though.

Getting at least one of the next two is obviously not bad but I will be disappointed if we can’t win in Waco. Only reservation is because we never win there but this Baylor team is the worst team they have had in some time. They are not good.
This. Blake Shapen is a decent QB and they have some nice skill players but Baylor’s OL and DL are dreadful. They are rushing for 2.8 ypc (121st in the nation) and allowing 4.9 rushing ypc (#107). Watch the highlights of their season opener against Texas State and Baylor was getting absolutely manhandled in the trenches. That same Texas State team had to come from behind in the last 2 min to beat Louisiana Monroe last weekend. Maybe Baylor will come off their bye week with renewed spirit agains Cincy this weekend. But, based on what they’ve shown so far, if ISU can’t come away with a solid W against Baylor, Cyclones don’t deserve to make a bowl.

Well....we certainly can't take early games as a definition of the team right? :)

They aren't good but that UCF game showed some flashes and you never know when a team will 'find it'.

Agreed though--if ISU goes down there and flops around like the last two times it's a step back from the last two weeks.
