I'd definitely take 5:1 that this isn't the song they come out to. I think someone was running interference.

Ya because that's what that post means lol. I'm talking about making sense, not liking the music. I don't like Slipknot either.

So what you're saying is, we would be better off using a song that doesn't appeal to nearly as many people, as long as it comes from Iowa it makes sense so people would be ok with it?

I really hated the rhythmic clap that everyone did to Smoke on the Water that seemed to last for ages and made your hands turn purple. I hope people wont do that with the new song.

Nothing specific. Just saying in general, that the point I'm taking away is that even though a song may not be as popular, if it comes from Iowa, it makes much more sense. That logic just doesn't make sense to me. In your specific example, I have no data to back it up, but I would guess that you could take your pick of any Slipknot song and more people would know Thunderstruck vs. the Slipknot song. Just based off the demographic that usually attends college football games.

I am totally indifferent if it is actually Thunderstruck. The entrance song is totally for the fans and getting the energy of the stadium up before the game. Smoke on the water was a snoozer. So in that regard, Thunderstruck is an upgrade. Might not be the most up-to-date choice, but it could be a lot worse too.

I wonder if the same people that are ******** about Thunderstruck not being "up to date" are the same people wanting throwback uniforms?

Honestly don't see why everyone is all upset. I'm 23 and love this choice. Sure it's used at other schools but that won't take away from the atmosphere at ISU

Serious question because I am a pop culture illiterate, but is Kanye West considered cool by 17-22 year olds anymore? I assume anyone that I have heard of for a decade cannot possibly considered cool by that demographic. When I was that age anything that 40 year old white people were purchasing was by default lame, unless it was cool in a retro sort of way.

Um, yes actually.. Kanye would resonate much more with the ATHLETES playing. Enough with the "old rock and roll has balls and is manly and is tough!!"... Please. It's time to stop yelling at those clouds.

Kanye is still considered very cool by that demographic. His last album "TLOP" was/is extremely popular, not to mention he's created, with the help of Adidas, the most sought-after shoe in the world at the moment (Yeezy's).
