Kanye is still considered very cool by that demographic. His last album "TLOP" was/is extremely popular, not to mention he's created, with the help of Adidas, the most sought-after shoe in the world at the moment (Yeezy's).

That's nice. This is what my demographic thinks of him:

A) If players need an entrance song that they like(that they actually hear for approximately 20 seconds) to get them ready to play; we are in trouble
B) 90% of the donors and season ticket holders (the ones who are writing checks) enjoy Thunderstruck, and they will remember the feeling they get when it blares through the speakers when they get hit up for money again, over and over and over.
C) 90% of People ages 16-22 will instantly forget about the entrance song they are complaining about after 20 seconds and continue to come to games via student ticket regardless of the entrance song.

So, the way I see it, who cares. It fits the Cyclone image and sirens. So lets play football.

I didn't bother to read all of this thread, so maybe this point has been made. While not the most creative or unique song, it fits and has mass general appeal. IMO the most important thing would be that it gets the majority of the stadium jacked up. I'd rather hear 60,000 fans chanting "Thunder" to this song than some song that only gets the 10,000 students excited.

I will take your word for it, but I'd guess Taylor Swift or Adele sell a ton of albums and can market clothes too. Either way, if Kanye eliminates rhythmic clapping I'm all for it. It's not quite as bad in JTS, but there is nothing more painful to me than a timeout in Hilton when people stand up and rhythmically clap.

I think this would work just fine for the entrance song and video board...bam killed two birds with one stone

I did not anticipate that 'fixing' the problem would actually make the debate around entrance music dumber, but here we are.

You want to ***** about a song, ***** about Sweet Caroline. That song blows.

Thunderstruck is a fine choice.

Minnesota played Sweet Caroline between the 3rd and 4th quarters last night. Yes...get rid of it.

Thunderstruck (Rumbleshook) is still a lame choice though.

One of the bigger problems with Smoke on the Water was the long drawn out intro to that song, Thunderstruck might have the same issue unless they edit it down (which I hope they do).
