They would be solid, not great, but solid additions. How much money do they bring in? IDK - but it would solidify the conference even more as both a football and basketball power. Its all about trying to make sure you still have a chair when the music stops and taking schools from the Pac 12 before any more schools leave for elsewhere is big. While I would like the Four Corners schools to come to the Big Xii, Utah losing @ Florida, Colorado losing to TCU, Arizona losing to Miss. State and Ariz. State losing @ Okla. State in their OOC games was a Big Ugly for those four schools resume (very short sighted one game scenario village).![]()
Honestly, I wish the Big 12 could get those teams in BEFORE the tv contract negotiations get finished with ESPN, etc. Because that would likely boost that number somewhat. How much? IDK but it'd be a benefit. You could go to ESPN and the other powers involved and say yeah, we lost OU / Texas.
But we added UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, Arizona / Arizona State, BYU / Utah. Its not a situation where they equal perhaps what Texas and OU brought in but that combination of markets plus competitive balance those schools have demonstrated in one or both of the major money making collegiate sports would drive up the value of the league more than without them,
