Great post play had some huge blocks and steals and big rebound at end of regulation and in OT Hope this gives him confidence to hit FTs especially down the stretch..
.
.And while we're handing out accolades, how about DJackson hitting a huge Trey - talk about getting some Swag and Confidence. From here on out we will talk about his big Trey just like we remember what Naz did vs Okie St.

I think today shows Coach Prohm our best chance to win games is playing Holden & Young at the five and Burton at the other post position. We need the height and strength inside to contest opponent shots in the paint. The other advantage is it allows Burton to double-down at time and his quick hands create turnovers.

I think Prohm will need to play both Holden and Young in the first half and I one guy is playing better, ride him in the 2nd half.

Mr. Young knows his role. He needs to defend, rebound and be physical down low. I specifically watched much of his play in second half. He WORKS HARD, his EFFORT is high. His defense at the beginning of the second half set the tone at the rim. And also his 1 point we needed!! Well done Young Man!!

I like the way Young plays for the most part. There was a stretch I watched him today and rolled my eyes. A couple minutes later...wow. D, screen and roll (did not get the pass) rebounds including a big offensive rebound late in the game.

Watching him mature and get better over the next couple of years will be nice.

I've said throughout this whole year that Young should be getting more minutes than he has been. Take a few lumps early but gain experience and improve enough to be solid when it counts at the end of the year. Prohm was forced to roll with Young today with Bowie out and Holden in foul trouble. Thank God the refs put Holden in foul trouble so Young had to play!

The plus side of playing Young more is that the Hilton crowd loves him and the hustle he brings

I hope he continues to buy in that we don't need points from him-- this year. He'll be a stud offensively and defensively by his Jr. year.

Young didn't have great stats, but he just looks like he belongs down low. He has a nose for positioning that Burton, Holden, and Bowie don't. Not sure if that's "feel for the game" or what. Young just looks more like a basketball player.

Now if they would just pass him the ball once when he is posted up. At least once, maybe twice today he had great position down low and the guard ignored an easy pass in to him.

DJ looked like he quietly LOVED how quiet the arena was after he hit that shot.

In my mind I was thinking, 'Dude gets it.'

I've liked the what he's brought in his short time at ISU.

Absolutely start him. Won't hurt anything at this point and will help build for the future.

I think Prohm will start either Young or Holden the remainder of the season, and possibly sub one in early based on how it's going ... all we need with this team is to have one of those two combine for utility duty each game.

I was expecting a loss today but was hoping for a solid game from Young so he'd stick in the rotation from here on out.

He'll need to keep working on rotations and ball screens but he might be our best on ball post defender. Weird how everyone totally refuses to throw him the ball no matter how good of position he has, though.

Don't really see why Bowie gets in at all at this point.

We are still going to need Holden as the season finishes. I would probably still start Holden because we need him to stay confident. Let him split lots of minutes with Young.
