I was under the impression he had de-commited? I must have lost track of his recruitment.

Edit: Nevermind. Went to IU? Idiot...

Wanted to follow Mess there . . . :wideeyed:

[PS: Messingham is listed as "Quality Control - Recruiting/Offense" on the IU website. First time I've ever actually seen a confirmation that he is on staff there now.]

Hope he has a quick recovery and dominates Iowa when he gets the chance.

As for ISU, I am happy we got Warren and our RB position is looking pretty stellar for the foreseeable future. Mister decided he didn't want to be a part of that, and I hope he has a good career at IU.

Speaking of IU kids, didn't Tribune go ISU-IU-ISU in his last month of recruitment?

I absolutely wanted Tommy Mister but when he decommitted and we hired RB Coach Ayeni we turned our attention to Mike Warren and we got him instead. I'd say more people wanted TM than not. In the end we got MW and I haven't read one person say we don't want him over TM.

"We didn't want TM anyway"? No.
"I'd rather have MW (in hindsight)"? Yes.

We all need quality control. Could have used some last year.

I wanted Tommy M here also, but he was a big drama queen on Twitter before he committed to us, to the time he punked ISU

got tired of his act

any person that makes the best decisions to put himself in the best position in life to succeed is fine in my book. All the credit to the kid. Hope he is successful.

I have no doubt that Warren will be a better player than Mister (barring injuries). Only reason Warren didn't blow up with offers was that the was a late qualifier and pretty much everyone else already had their RBs committed. If UCLA would have been able to pry Mixon from OU, Warren would be a Sooner right now. For Mister, I don't know how you could be an offensive recruit and be upset that ISU swapped Messingham for Mangino. If that were me, I'd be jumping for joy, not decommitting. The kids parents were obsessed with B1G, well, have fun in Bloomington playing in front of 30k a game.

Too bad for him. Would've been a good get for CPR. Speaking of verbals who went elsewhere, what's the news on Jeff Jones? Last I heard he was still trying to qualify academically at Minnesota.

IIRC, he is enrolled at Minnesota, but not eligible for football this year. Thought that is what I heard on KFAN last Sunday.

30K? Don't kid yourself, that would be a dream for Indiana.

I have to admit that I snickered at the painful irony of Messingham's new title. All the best to everyone mentioned in this thread - things couldn't have worked out better for ALL.

Do you police the "we didn't want him anyway" comments on the hawk boards too?? Because I seem to remember a whole lot more on all of them after Ozigbo chose ISU.

Nah they didn't want Ozigbo, they were clearly going to get that other guy that went to USC instead.
