The headline literally says:
The Iowa Hawkeyes have reached out to former ISU wrestler Austin Gomez
Seems a wee bit more credible than some troll on a rivals message board.

I sure don’t understand why it matters. I suppose if Austin doesn’t choose Iowa, you can say he want them & Iowa didn’t want him. Seems pretty irrelevant
Hypothesis:
- Gomez is cleared to wrestle
- He’s out of redshirt options here, but has a “free” transfer year
- He can’t make 133 anymore
- He can’t beat Parker at 141
- 149 puts him in with some LOOONG dudes in both Degen and Robinson. 149 is a stretch anyway, but that length is a problem
Gomez is as talented as anyone, but not being able to go at 133 means he is without a spot here.

If he's looking to go at 141 Iowa makes even less sense.
True. Forgot Eierman coming back for his 47th season. I mean that as lightly as possible. If it were me and my body could still handle it, I’d take every year possible too.

Burks would definitely be a really nice addition. Tons of upside.
I could see Redding building up to 141 post-Parker as Redding looks pretty sucked down at 133, and having more guys around that weight would be great.
Knopick will fit in around that area too and he and Burks are pretty familiar with each other. Would be interesting to have them both in the room.
