We will see this a lot in the cases we do get talented players or ones that are 2 stars that turn really good after a couple years ago. They will prove themselves on the field in Ames and leave when the NIL deals come calling.
Yep, gotta take the cast outs from the blue bloods that already got their NIL money and motivate them to play with a chip on their shoulder I guess.
Or a booster gives an NIL deal that includes paying tution/room and board so the transfer walks on
Do people really think these guys are going to blue bloods to get paid? Other than Young, I would expect most of these guys expect younger guys on the roster to overtake them. Maybe the team had year end meetings and they didn’t like what they were told. Hard saying why Young is transferring. That one seems odd to me but could be something behind the scenes that we will never hear about.
So we just can’t pay people and that’s it? Goodbye program because we have no money?

Right. NIL paying for entire teams basically negates the need for scholarships at all.
I remember all the people on here praising this NIL stuff. In 10 years, college football is over as we know it. ISU is out on an island with this new conference and now the NIL, this is bad for the little guy.
This is the end game yep. Programs will just become farm teams for blue bloods.

Yep, I'm sure it's 100% the fault of NIL and not the ease with which someone can transfer and be eligible.

Correct, but just thinking about the NIL logic it is basic economics.
I care more about college athletes being treated well and being allowed to transfer if they want to. I'm going to assume Iowa State athletics will be fine until proven otherwise. I think football is starting to go the route the basketball went 10 years ago. We'll lose players every year to the transfer portal, but pick up a bunch too. Right now we're seeing the losses.
