If the kids can get paid to go to a different program, hard to fault them. This is what so many of you wanted. You’re now getting it.

Yep, gotta take the cast outs from the blue bloods that already got their NIL money and motivate them to play with a chip on their shoulder I guess. They still have scholarship limits and will lose transfers themselves that non-blue bloods can take advantage of.

So we just can’t pay people and that’s it? Goodbye program because we have no money? If the kids can get paid to go to a different program, hard to fault them.
Must not care about the long term health of Iowa State athletics. Oh well, maybe you will get in in 10 years.Yeah, players can go somewhere else to play if they want. What a travesty.
The transfer portal taketh away, and the transfer portal will giveth.
He’s definitely not a guy who was threatened position wise.Do people really think these guys are going to blue bloods to get paid? Other than Young, I would expect most of these guys expect younger guys on the roster to overtake them. Maybe the team had year end meetings and they didn’t like what they were told. Hard saying why Young is transferring. That one seems odd to me but could be something behind the scenes that we will never hear about.
Right. NIL paying for entire teams basically negates the need for scholarships at all.Or a booster gives an NIL deal that includes paying tution/room and board so the transfer walks on
This is the end game yep. Programs will just become farm teams for blue bloods. So we just can’t pay people and that’s it? Goodbye program because we have no money?
Because we’re such a poor program that can’t afford anything all the other P5 programs can?Must not care about the long term health of Iowa State athletics. Oh well, maybe you will get in in 10 years.
NIL is a farce, this was all about pay to play. You really don't like NIL
Better hope they hold roster limits, because NIL at a blueblood will soon pay more than a scholarship to Iowa St.Or a booster gives an NIL deal that includes paying tution/room and board so the transfer walks on
Correct, but just thinking about the NIL logic it is basic economics. So much confidence that NIL is why players are transferring and we haven't even heard why they are transferring.
I care more about college athletes being treated well and being allowed to transfer if they want to. I'm going to assume Iowa State athletics will be fine until proven otherwise. I think football is starting to go the route the basketball went 10 years ago. We'll lose players every year to the transfer portal, but pick up a bunch too. Right now we're seeing the losses.Must not care about the long term health of Iowa State athletics. Oh well, maybe you will get in in 10 years.
