Anybody hear the story that there is actually a finalist/second-place trophy for the Heisman and that TD's is currently in some dive-bar in Cambridge or something? One of those internet legend stories I suppose that has no basis.

Congrats to TD, it is well deserved. Everybody knew what was happening and he still got his yards.

I tried to find a breakdown of his rushing yards by quarter. I saw somewhere that most of his yards were in the 2nd and 3rd quarters but I can't find the quote nor the stats. I hate that Hawks dismiss his accomplishments because the team sucked. Yes, the team sucked but played in several close games that year. Secondly, because the team sucked, there was absolutely no one else a defense had to worry about.

Rep to anyone that can break down that '96 season into rushing yards by quarters.

Run it down, CW. You can ask Troy about in the future article of "Where are they now..."

Do you see anyone in your list twice other than Davis? Gee maybe that should have counted for something Richard Head.

Way up there
How is Ricky Williams not in the HOF? Love me some Troy Davis but Ricky was one of the best college RB's to ever play the game. The list of the 2000 yard backs that are in is incredible, some great company for Troy, well deserved.

We can now add Derek Henry to that list.

Nice. It took them 22 years to put Barry Sanders in. Barry ******* Sanders. I am a Cyclone through and through but I have no delusions that Troy was a better RB in college than Barry.

This made my day. I was in school 96-00, and know I was at Missouri game. Wish I was sober enough to remember all the details. Almost caught an extra point in the end zone. Almost.

Seriously? Or am I in a time warp & you think today is April Fool's Day?

Yeah, you are right. I made a mistake. Barry's number was called in 15 years. I had the wrong date of Marcus Allen's induction as well - but the number of years was right.
