Re: Why Gill turning us down is bad...

All indications point to the fact that we not only didn't offer Gill, we never talked to him.

All i know is just like last time, JP pulled it out of his arse, and in the end everyone seemed happy. I have no doubt he will do the same this time. Noone will know until the day that plane lands and someone steps off of it.

Maybe we are all Patterson all the way??

Maybe.

And, I read nothing in there that said Gill is not taking another job and there was no mention about Iowa State.

I firmly believe Gill will not be our next coach, I also firmly believe the reports that Pollard did not meet with him.

It could be technically correct that Pollard never contacted Gill. However, it is naive to believe that there wasn't at least some contact through intermediaries. This keeps both sides from looking bad, coach can said I didn't talk to anyone and school and say I didn't talk to him and not look like they were turned down.

Re: Why Gill turning us down is bad...

It's not bad because Turner Gill was the only good candidate out there, although he was one of top 3. It is bad because we got turned down for Buffalo. It's like we're the bar skank, that put on some make up to look decent, and got turned for a fat ***** with one arm, because everyone in the bar heard this rumor about how we have crabs. Even though we aren't that ugly, we have a such a bad rep that no one is going to touch us unless they're black out drunk.

I dont understand the extreme love fest you have with Gill. Were you this pissed when you didnt get Tickle-me-Elmo?

Then Pollard better come up with a big hire, or I'm going to be pissed because that's unacceptable, IMO.

Also, JP knows he is driving everyone crazy, and people are spending hours infront of their computer, refreshing, waiting for something to leak. And im guessing he gets a good chuckle out of it

Re: Why Gill turning us down is bad...

Gill did NOT turn us down... period!

There wasn't even an interview. JP has been in Atlanta all day, and Gill has been holding football practice in Buffalo. Do you honestly think JP interviewed him over the phone and offered him the job without even seeing him personally.

Get real people! Gill just isn't interested in even interviewing for any other jobs right now.

It stinks for us fans of Gill, but it's over, and he didn't say no to us. We have to move on.
