The best reason for them to move is that it locks them in to a nationally relevant conference even after Mark Few retires. Yeah, they won't be an annual one seed, but the potential floor if the successor coaches don't pan out is a lot lower if they're in the WCC
Its also the reason the big 12 should be very cautious with adding them.
I've always said that the ESPN gamecast is the gold standard in game predicting.
That prediction doesn’t nearly bother me as much as being favored in football this year…being the favorite has been a death sentence for our football team.
Little off with the Heels?..I'd call it Caleb Grill. Any talk that NC isn't a good team is discounting how well we played against them. No way NC prepared for Grill doing that and hadn't he this very easily could have been a 20 point loss. Bring on uconn. They haven't seen D like we're playing and to be honest I haven't seen anyone playing D like ISU is right now. TJ has built a tough roster. I like our chances and comes March bring NC on again with King added to the roster.
T King eating minutes at the 4 is going to give us so much depth up front that fouls won't be an issue. Just gotta get by another few weeks.
I was wondering if the ‘NC isn’t that good’ narrative would start to bubble up after awhile. Our guys beat an excellent team yesterday- that’s all there is to it. Our D shut down a superior offense and we executed when it counted…heck, you could even say we won in the margins down the stretch when it mattered most.
I kinda get what you’re saying, and maybe UConn is a better team, but our guys played better and beat a good team, there’s no diminishing their accomplishment yesterday.

I in NO WAY discredited the win at all. We just beat the number one team in the country and it’s the best win ANYONE has this year. I was posturing that at this moment in time I feel UConn is the better team but even said come March this will likely be a bigger win and probably our best. Damn dudes chill out and stop trying to find something to be pissed or slighted about. Nothing I said was wrong, UNC has not looked great this year and almost lost to flipping Portland ok so relax.

Who's offended? Not me. Say or express whatever opinion u want. I'm stoked! I'm looking at our team and what I think is going to be an excellent season. With that defense and the personal to pull it off all we need is a little scoring. I'm seeing lots of options. Last season was all IB. This season we can score at all 3 levels, get to the line, and wear opposing teams out with our movement. Too many options this season not to be good. I'm all in. Think what u want from what your seeing with the team.
And I have the same thoughts…so not sure why you said I was discrediting our win. Our team is damn good, and we punched UNC in the mouth repeatedly yesterday. I think at this moment UConn is playing better than UNC and will be a bigger challenge but we shall see. I’m excited because if they beat the Huskies that’s an insane weekend with the three programs our boys will have beaten and more importantly the styles we will have beaten.
No offense taken here- just responding to your opinion. You’re free to think as you wish. If you want to downgrade a good win- no worries.

See this is just a poster trying to sound cool. Watch the first half again. The fouls called on Iowa State were quite clearly ticky tacky early on and it was quite clearly a message from the crew; we’re not going to let Iowa State play this way. It was even more obvious in 2nd viewing. UNC was not “out-athleting” us into fouls, they were simply allowed to be exactly as physical as we were with no repercussions.
Credit to our guys; the initial ****** whistles definitely affected them, which caused them to go away from their tenacity and aggression, which got us down 9, but we turned on the intensity (in both halves) down the stretch. The defense to close out the halves was no more “aggressive” than the start of the halves, but the crew had to have some semblance of balance so they let us go in crunch time.
Do we foul a lot? Yes. And yes, some by design obviously. Do we foul into the bonus 6 minutes into the game!? LOL, hell no.
Sorry if my "stoked" Messaging sounded negative..We're going to lose games this year, but that's a tourney/shot at conference type team. With TJ's coaching I don't see the season getting rocky going any other way. King will make us even better. If Grill and Gabe get hot Im on not putting a ceiling on the season. Feel the same about the ladies also. Gonna be a fun winter!
Wow you have zero reading comprehension. No discrediting anywhere whatsoever. Out of all the negative posters on here, this is what you choose to go after? I am overly optimistic on here to a fault. Two things are true.
1. We just beat the top ranked team and it was zero fluke
2. UNC is not playing at their best right now (I think and maybe this does turn out to be their best. We better hope not because then this win won’t look as good because this team almost lost to Portland and there was no fluke in that either. Portland took it to the Heels) and guess what? That does not discredit our win in any way
So the refs had it in for us for some of the game and then just decided to call the game differently later on to give the appearance of a fair game? Ok- I understand.
Did the crew have a secret signal to really start calling the game right again, did they get a mysterious phone call during a media timeout? Tell us more- this sounds far more interesting than us just winning a game.

RIGHT NOW? I don’t think they are BUT I think they are top 6 or 7 easily. And I want them to go play to their best potential from here on out so we are one of the only teams to beat them this year and it wasn’t done in a fluke way. We straight up beat them.
