Please. I won't say I am happy at all with the situation but we are 8 games in and the season is written off. I'm not saying he will turn it around, but there is a lot of time left.

But it's the same thing every year with this guy. When does he turn the corner and bring the program to respectability. It's a long way from there right now.

If we play like we're capable, we will win 22. If we play like this, we will win 12 games.

This argument is also getting annoying to me. "Play like we're capable". McDermott is part of the "we". And until he's gone, our PLAYERS won't be able to play like THEIR capable.

This is ALL on McDermott.

On the plus side, I can just completely lower my expectations and *hope* for a .500 season. I've lost the fire, just like the team.

I have too. Years ago with Johnny or Floyd or LE, things would have been broken. It just is a feeling of resignation any more. So used to losing games like this under McDermott. I don't get the feeling that the guy has a competitive fire in him.

I feel bad for the kids at Iowa. Those guy bust their butts every night but they just don't have the talent.

We have talent but you wouldn't know it by watching us.

Horrid coaching! HORRIBLE. UNI's two big guys go for 20 and 20 where were all those points? Down low. Mac needed to deny that pass into the post and it would have been fixed easily. Also, i will support this team and be there every game but we just lost to Northwestern and UNI two mediocre teams loosing one of those i can understand but you can not lose both of those games and excpect to make any chance at a tournament bid.

Oklahoma got home state kid Griffin from the Big Boys
Georgia Tech got a highly recruited home town kid

Are you saying Oklahoma and ISU have programs of similar success?

Wow I am sooooo glad I did not renew my b-ball season tickets. I have seen enough of McD basketball. As for firing, he is safe for years. I really don't care if he goes or not. I am just glad I am not supporting him with my $$ anymore.

How about throwing in a double team once in a while, we just let Egelseder take 4 or 5 dribbles and do what he wanted. And our best post defender against him on the night spent the latter part of the game on the bench.
