What are our chances for this game? I obviously expect to win and I think we match up with them pretty well, but my confidence is shaken after last weekend. Does Brackins regain his early form? Does Hamilton play Ogreseder well? Can Diante slow down Agelebe? Does Dendy play?

Take out this past weekend's frustrations on UNI. Blow them out- And it is a great possibility that this will happen.....and The Brack goes nuts for about 30pts.

I really saw two glaring negatives against Northwestern. One, Brackins could not get anything to fall. Everything was a bad bounce this way or that.

Second, Vander Beeken was obviously winded in the last five minutes of the game and against a quick cutting team like Northwestern it hurt us tremendously. That pass to the center and hand off the PG for the easy hoop was the straw that broke the camel's back. Vander Beeken didn't even move to try and fould the guy, he just let him go by.

Both of those issues are correctable. Especially with Vander Beeken and how deep our bench could be.

Not that we won't have issues with UNI but I don't see that game shaping up anything like Northwestern.

why start this with "what are our chances"? I think it's more like what would have to happen for us not to win this game? ISU is the better, more athletic team. we should win from anywhere between 7-12 points. but we cannot only make 1 FG over the course of 10 minutes in the second half. If we are consistent form the FT line, shoot our average from beyond the arc, and get brackins the ball in the paint, you'll be hearing a lot of CYCLONE POWER coming from the student section.

My thought is we should have a good chance to win out at home the rest of the non confrence schedule. This is a game I think we will win. We should be rested and better prepared to play this game. We need to run their legs off and finish at the rim!

The Fizer/Tinsley team lost at Drake - before Drake was any sort of "good". Just saying...

Not calling for an Elite 8 run. But you just can't put too much stock in an early season tournament on what is pretty close to an opponent's home court.

(Yes - I'm a firm believer in the "good loss" idea. Particularly in basketball.)

We would have beaten NW at home. Assuming UNI and NW are similar...there you go.

I think UNI is better than NW, how much, I don't know.

Wow, I think you are really reaching here. Who has UNI beat that compares to NW beating Notre Dame and ISU? I think we beat UNI by 10-15. Personally I hope we beat the holy hell out of UNI if nothing else to get our confidence back before heading out to Cali.

I hope we absolutely crush them, I get very tired of the UNI fans I work with.

They beat BC, which is a good win. They also returned everybody from a NCAA tournament team so we know they have the talent to win games. NW lost two starters off an NIT team and will likely finish in the bottom 3 of the Big 10.

This game will be close and will be decided in the final minutes. Anybody predicting a blowout either way is way off base, IMO...

And yes, Boston College is better than Northwestern. At the same time, the DePaul loss leaves me scratching my head...

It will be close. This is a huge game for UNI. Anyone expecting a blowout is going to be in full meltdown mode come Wednesday night.

Brackins seems frustrated. I think he will come out jacked, and try to own the paint. No doubt UNI will be another tough test, but if we don't have another 10 minute scoring drought, we should win.

Count me as one that thinks we win by double digits.

(I also though we would have our hands full with NW so I wasn't a koolaid'r)

UNI is an NCAA tournament team that is returning every starter. ISU hasn't come close to being invited to the dance for several years. And during those last several years, UNI has shown us that they know how to come into Hilton and leave with a victory.

The overconfidence of some of our fans amazes me.

Having said that, I still like our chances given the talented group of athletes we have on this year's squad. While the close loss to NW was a very tough pill to swallow, an early season slap in face could be a very healthy thing. I think it will really help us focus for the UNI game.

I hope we come out ****** off at the world and play with a set of steel balls. I want total domination. I want absolute destruction. I want us to drain 3's, I want us to own the paint, I want us to smash the boards, and I want us playing tough man to man defense all up in their friggin' faces.

That said, I think it will be a close game and we end up winning by 9-14 points.
