WRNL weighing in with their SATIRE piece. For you Iowa fans, satire is when something is not 100% factual, maybe based on a kernel of truth and meant to be sarcastic and humorous.

Boy if WRNL had like a 500 word limit on their articles or something, they could just print all the teams using black. and they'd still be way over. LOL

Great, more uniform fan fiction threads, just what I was looking for
I am here if you need me.

7 pages on uniform color, LOL... but hey here i am reading them. So I'm throwing out we go all black, I'm not saying just the basic all black uniforms we have worn before, but numbers, logos, socks, helmets, faceguards, shoes, everything pitch black. Refs won't know who is who, it will be chaos.

I don't know specifics in football, but basketball has a lot of specific rules covering uniforms, one being that numbers have to be a contrasting color, clearly and easily discernible. They specify size, location, etc. Even borders, piping, patches, etc.

My guess for CyHawk would be all-cardinal (since it wasn't use for UNI), but wouldn't surprise me to stick w/ W-C-W, either. Another option that'd be OK is W-C-C.

Some had mentioned using white jersey at home (subject to opponent agreement) if so, go C-W-C or W-W-C. (I do not expect this)

I don't know why you guys don't wear the dark greys more often. Do they wear them anymore at all? That's your best look IMO.

Those were short-lived. Can't recall the last time it was used. Definitely was phased-out by the time the all-black arrived.
Last used in 2017 as were all uniforms with stripes on shoulders. In 2018 we went to the uniforms we wear now minus the cardinal ones where we got rid of the black collar.

I thought they looked great, creative change up from all blackout which everyone does.
Actually that was sort of prior to black our uniforms. Gray was very in at the time. That’s why we got the bball ones to have gray in them too.

Multiple NFL teams choose to wear white at home for September games to seek an advantage in the heat. The Bengals are wearing white to force the Vikings into purple on Sunday. With a high of 90 on Saturday in Ames I think the all blacks are probably unlikely. But I wouldn’t put it past this staff and team to do it anyway since it’s a Top 10 College GameDay game.

The gophers up north chose to wear Black during their prime time slot against Ohio State. I could see the players voting for black.

Why are visiting college football teams required to wear white jerseys? - Quora
Not official, but seems like both teams have to agree -- the home team can't just dictate it.

NCAA Rule 1-4-5-b
1. Players of opposing teams shall wear jerseys of contrasting colors. Players on the same team shall wear jerseys of the same color and design.

2. The visiting team shall wear white jerseys; however, the home team may wear white jerseys if the teams have agreed in writing before the season.

3. If the home team wears colored jerseys, the visiting team may also wear colored jerseys, if and only if the following conditions have been satisfied:
a. The home team has agreed in writing prior to the game; and
b. The conference of the home team certifies that the jersey of the visiting team is of a contrasting color.

2 full pages in the FB rule book just about jersey design, colors, and numbers.

Interesting stuff, I always thought home team had the choice of jerseys. LSU must have a standing agreement that they're wearing whites with every team that comes into their place. You'd think some SEC coaches would try f*cking with them by saying no deal.

I do like "color rush" games on occasion when both teams wear their colors. Looks great with certain teams.

I did not know that teams had to say they were wearing white before the season, I thought it was just before the game at some point.
