the easy answer to this problem isn’t not wearing black…fwiw.
Actually the easiest answer is "don't lose".

Yeah, that is what I was getting at.Actually the easiest answer is "don't lose".
That was a night game … I doubt ISU comes out in all blacks for an afternoon September game. The gophers up north chose to wear Black during their prime time slot against Ohio State. I could see the players voting for black.
It’ll be 92. Yeah wearing black unis is kinda dumb.
Yeah we certainly aren’t going to not wear black uniforms because it’s going to be warm out. I can guarantee you the decision on what uniform we’re going to wear has already been made.Hawks and other teams do it all the time. Overblown.
We’re not wearing white jerseysY'all are way overthinking this.
You know how that 'written agreement' goes? Your director of football is ops emails the other director of football ops and says 'hey, we're going to wear white when we play you'. The other guy goes 'sounds good' and everybody moves on. I've been involved in this stuff. It's the least formal thing ever and nobody bats an eye at it.
We’re not wearing white jerseys
I don’t think it’ll be this FWIWOh absolutely not. I was just commenting about people thinking it was the big formal process.
It'll be Cardinal helmets and jerseys with whatever pants.
LSU must have a standing agreement that they're wearing whites with every team that comes into their place.
They had to wear purples from 83-95. Gerry Dinardo appealed to wear whites at home in 95 and was denied, then individually met with each rules committee member (cough cough $$$ cough cough) and was finally approved for exception.Interesting stuff, I always thought home team had the choice of jerseys. LSU must have a standing agreement that they're wearing whites with every team that comes into their place. You'd think some SEC coaches would try f*cking with them by saying no deal.
I’m starting to think you’re rightWhite helmets/pants, black jersey, Jack trice stripes on the helmet
This is true. Black and silver, both (and gold). It changed circa 1899. It was somewhat difficult to dye uniforms those colors back then.I believe black is one of our original school colors…almost positive there was a display in the Jacobson building that I saw a few years ago that confirmed this. Maybe the toe actually stole black from us…
Can any ISU history junkies shed some light on this?
Right on- thanks for the reply. This is true. Black and silver, both. It changed circa 1899.
As long as we don't turn into the Raiders, just fine. I think black, silver, and gold could be damn snazzy, though the Hoks would howl even more.Right on- thanks for the reply.
Given that fact, we should embrace our history, and add the silver too. How cool would silver and black be?
