Of these players, Jordan would be the only one with enough defensive chops for TJ to even give a 2nd look. Larry Legend had the midwest connection so maybe an offer would have made it his way.
Long story short -
MM > Dirk
CONFIRMED
I'll throw this in since these threads usually get derailed anyway....

Kobe 9 years All NBA defense, 3 years second team.

MJ 9 years All NBA defense

Bird 3 years All NBA second team defense

Dirk...... not so much

MJ and Kobe are legendary for their defense but I bet TJ would take Larry if he could.

I don't see that at all. The thing that stood out about Georges was his uncanny ability around the basket with his variety of moves and ability to get the shot off and score against taller opponents from seemingly impossible angles. I see none of that from Momcilovic. I see a scorer but in a different way than Georges did it. About the only similarity I see is they can both hit the three. Georges was more of a distrubutor too. He was like a point forward. I could see TJ weaning Momcilovic off those fade away jumpers from 15 feet or further out. That's usually not a high percentage shot.
You don't see an uncanny ability around the rim, a variety of moves, and an ability to get his shot off in many different ways? Not sure we're watching the same highlights.

Georges averaged 2.1 apg his senior year of HS. This year Milan is averaging 2.6 apg.

Georges wasn't advertised as a 'point forward' as a recruit. He was a unathletic hybrid 4 who had elite offensive moves, but needed conditioning, and was not much of a defensive presence due to being overmatched athletically by other players at his position.

All of this sounds a lot like Milan to me. Great offensive player, but lots else needs work.

I disagree completely - if he can make those at his size, they are an unstoppable shot.
I’m with you. I think his ability to make that shot is one of the primary reasons TJ is recruiting him.

Our biggest need offensively in my opinion is that guy that can create a good look when you need it. Either to stop a run or when game is down to the last possessions (OSU game being a prime example).

If Milan catches a guard on a switch and backs him down to 10-15 feet that’s not a bad look. Or you double and he finds someone open. It changes a lot.

You know what - I think he's more Julius Michalik than Georges Niang

Although we're comparing role/position/type, not specific impact, something intriguing --> Julo and Georges ISU stats are notably close in most of the main stats categories, with each quite consistent across the 4 seasons.

I was pretty young, but I thought Julo's 3pt shot was better than that! but you are right, Julo's JR year and Georges' SR year are very similar - 20ppg, 6rbg, 2-3apg. Julo shot 57%/33%/86%; Georges shot 55%/39%/81%.

This guy has Dirk Nowitzki written all over him. Almost a carbon copy. A bit shorter obviously, but Dirk HAS to be the closest comparison to describe his style of play.

Does not dunk enough on very small competition. This is the only true evaluation metric you need,. Do not want.

Michalik was a blast to watch!
