I normally dont really care for Dickie V but then again I usually hear him broadcasting Duke games so a bit biased. I thought he was great tonight. As mentioned earlier I thought he gave credit to ISU where it was due and actually really enjoyed himself and the atmosphere. I actually enjoyed his broadcasting tonight.

The way I see it, Dickie V got exactly what we would have wanted him to get out of this. He got to come to Ames and see/hear the place ROCKING and he saw a great game where ISU was triumphant. That is the experience he will remember when he thinks of Ames. So yeah baby, how sweet is that?

I don't see what the problem with Dicky V. is. He is a little over the top and pretty pro ACC/Duke, but this was not an ACC game so we didn't have to listen about him praising all of them tonight, or at least not a lot. He said a lot of very nice things about ISU tonight, that is worth a lot.

He constantly talked up Hilton magic. I have no problem with a Hall of Fame announcer spending two hours on a nationally televised game In which we beat a top 10 ranked team talking about how amazing we are.

If you can find his special "The Game of Life" from about twenty years ago, it will make you a fan.
How about a copy of his book VITALE...Just your average bald, one eyed basketball wacko who beat the ziggy and became a PTP'er by **** vitale with Curry Kirkpatrick.
I got a free signed copy at a food show in Lincoln Neb n around 88-89 when he was the speaker.
Fun read.

Watched the ESPN3 replay tonight after going to the game. IDK, I guess I expected Vitale to be a lot worse than he was. He wasn't overly annoying and was genuinely happy to be there. Then again, after years of listening to Ron Santo (R.I.P) call Cubs games on the radio, any other broadcaster can seem tolerable.

When Dickie V comments he feels like he was "treated like royalty" and that Hilton Magic is "Awesome with a capital A" ....seriously, how could you say no to the guy?!

A new respect has been found for Dickie V. Come back soon!

Yeah, I'm not a big Vitale guy. Maybe his schtick has gotten old simiar to Chris Berman's. BUT, there's no doubt that he loves college basketball and by all accounts, he's a great guy. It would have probably been annoying if ISU were playing Duke or even KU, but Michigan isn't one of his true blue blood favorites. Said great things about ISU and Hilton. I may turn the channel if I see he's doing a Duke game, but it was nice for once to see him praising ISU. I'd be happy to see him come back when we play KU.

Hey, Ron was good too. When the Cubs were losing, he could always find something to talk about or thank some fans.

He usually gives me headache, but I was fine with him tonight. He was a little hard to hear over the "F*** McGary" cheer though.
