Don't have time to respond to every post from an NU poster, so allow me to summarize:
1. No team can mitigate a loss better than NU. It seems that they NEVER actually get beat. (Well we held you to XXXX yards, blah, blah, blah). Don't pay attention to the score, because it doesn't really matter, unless.....
2. We've beaten you for 100 years, and then isn't that all that matters? I mean, yeah, ISU got 8 turnovers and won the game, but it was just a fluke, we're still NU and were relevant about 20 years ago. They will bring up some historical argument as if something that happened when the current players were literally in elementary school, or even born, has any impact on the game actually played in 2010 or the upcoming game in 2011.
When they don't have scoreboard, they bring up statistics like "we held you to so many yards", or "it took 8 TO's to win that game", but they rarely (if ever) mention the final score. As best I can tell, the score still remains 31 - 10 Tech. (What a great offensive display. I mean hell, your offense scored for both you and us.)
And while talking about great offenses, they don't turn the ball over 8 times. But if I give you the benefit of the doubt, and they are a great offense, wouldn't that make ISU's defense that more dominant. I mean, they did get 8 TO's on your great offense.
And while we are talking about 8 TO's consider this: If NU had 8 TO's surely we wouldn't hear about how great the blackshirts are. Surely it was a fluke. Right?
Yep, no one can mitigate a loss better than NU.
Both your points are pretty weak. No Husker fan has cited that Nebraska will win next year because of history or the last 100 years. Only you have brought that up, most of the time just as another way to bring up that "Nebraska hasn't been relevant for xxxxx years". And your second point? No Husker fan cited Nebraska's offense as "great" let alone good. Nebraska's offense last year was awful. Everyone knows that.
The only reason we are "mitigating losses" is because some posters use last years game as a reason that ISU will beat Nebraska this year. And if you're one of those people, I'd like to do a little sportsbooking with you.
Since you obviously think that history has no impact, lets erase every previous game in the series from our memories. So we forget the 70 something times NU has beaten ISU. But to reciprocate, we must also forget about last year's game, among the few times ISU has beaten NU. Then do you STILL expect ISU to beat Nebraska next year?
