I still remember in the comic when Carol asked Laurie if she could be Rick's second wife and they could take care of each other. Laurie freaked out on her but it was a good laugh. They made Carol way smarter in the show than the comic.
What I find strange is that multiple times, they have heard outside radio and yet no one talks about it. Wouldn't someone find parts to get a radio working in the prison?
To be honest, I'm not really thrilled with the idea of the governor back. Everyone alive without shelter is hanging on by a thread and is concerned about eating that day and living to see the next. And here you've got one guy seemingly oblivious to the surroundings just so he can terrorize the prison? I think there are more entertaining possibilities.
The flu was a good stage to thin the group, so when the herd shows up, they can all leave together.

Nah, I don't agree. Its not like he forgot how to kill zombies or something, they just have other storylines for him.
Also think zombie killing is one of the least exciting parts of the show in comparison to all the other drama. But, I do agree with you completley that the fact that anyone can die in any given episode is one of the best parts of the show.
In the comics, Bob was the town drunk of Woodbury and at one point saved the Governor's life.
In the comics fans got ****** that a new enemy showed up that seemed just like the governor, that's not even a spoiler since they are so different at this point even with main characters. So would you rather have "return of the governor" or "here comes a new version of the governor"? I think the Governor coming back for another round is a reaction to fans of the comics plot.

This may have deserved a spoiler wrapper. If any non comic reader is worried, I think they are making his a completely different character. The Bob from the comic is an old white guy.
I really hope that is not the direction the series takes. The group dynamic against a large force is a great part of the show. United against one evil person has been played out a million times. I think the flu story was great because it could easily happen. They need more stories like that. I think the radio idea would be a great storyline. A group heads out to get electronic parts and runs into a group broadcasting. Maybe they've talked to other small groups. Something that gives a little hope or thought to the larger picture.
I think they need to expand the series a bit to tie in some of the macro-level happenings to keep it fresh and interesting. You can only keep developing the same people in the same location for a limited amount of time.
I thought what they learned at the CDC in Atlanta was interesting and was hoping we would learn more about the efforts being made to understand the disease and stop it. Hopefully they eventually come across another operation like the CDC at some point
