Those people who survived the ice ages grew up in that environment and learned at a young age what they needed to do to survive with knowledge passed down from parents and other adults. The people in this show grew up basically how we live now with a huge buffer between us and living a life where every day is about survival and life or death situations. We aren't waking up everyday trying to figure out how to not die, and throwing people like that all of a sudden into the middle of a completely different situation isn't going to go smoothly. They aren't going to get everything figured out right away.

There are people that are on earth still living under those circumstances. Some people would break, no doubt. Some would survive and some would even enjoy it.

Head to the library and get the information that you need to subsist. Learn from the past. Find out how to make weaponry, and farming tools, and other goods people will need. Then barter with people you meet. Make alcohol for medical purposes. Make soap etc.

Learn to fight the Walkers in a phalanx with swords and spears. Save your bullets, or learn to manufacture artillery.

I would rather watch a group of people that are fighting to live, and not just happy to squat in a dirty prison.

Just my opinion.

I don't believe this generation of survivors a couple of years after the zombie outbreak would need to do these things.... there would still be plenty of salvage tools, goods, alcohol, soap, etc. available. There are other things to focus there efforts on which would be much more beneficial only a year or two after the outbreak.

On the next paragraph - they are already doing that. They fought in formation this year at the beginning and they have been saving bullets as much as possible for a couple of seasons now. I did really enjoy the Season 4 pilot when we got to see them creating a society with organization, farming, education, etc. I think now they are back to survival for the short term at least.

Michonne sort of disappeared at the end of the episode. After the prior scene with Judith im thinking she might have rescued judith.

I'm pretty sure she's dead. She dies in the prison attack in the comic and Kirkman's reaction seemed to point to it as well, although I suppose he could be just setting us up. Also, while I think the show is dark enough to kill off a baby, I doubt they'd show a half eaten baby or show it in the process of being eaten. That's a little too much.

yeah, she did die, but by Lori falling on her. Lori wasn't there, and Andrea is still alive in the comics.

Granted, they wouldn't show a half eaten baby, but my first reaction was she was grabbed and carried by someone who had been helping others/bleeding.

We will see.

I hope we never have a zombie apocalypse because I'd last about one day. I'd be focusing on all the cool cars I could now drive. I'd drive a new one every day. They are fine vehicles but who would choose a small Hyundai SUV if you had your choice of vehicles?

On a more serious note, I think the island idea is good one but then the show would be more like Gilligan's Island

At a minimum I would find the biggest baddest lifted 4x4 I could find.

Yeah, but the odds of finding a large enough group that would contain people capable of what you wrote or smart enough. Lets face it, there is a lot of dumb people in this world and the more dependent we all have become on technology has really made it much worse.

Those things are already running out, and they are not fighting with shields and armor. A well trained group would not be challenged by walkers. you could begin proactively clearing large areas of land if fighting with good numbers this way. Like in the movie 300.

I understand there has to be danger as it is a Horror Show. The group would be more interesting if they were more proactive.

I think the baby will be with the children, and that will be a storyline. Little guys being bad@#$.

Where is the armor coming from?
If they know how to make old-fashioned linen armor, maybe it's possible. Otherwise, I'm not sure how effective the armor these people might cobble together would be.

Yes, lots of people are dumb and would not survive. I don't want to tune in once a week to watch those people. I want to watch smart people that fight to survive. Herschel was the character that seemed to get it. Herschel was the intelligent character, and man am I going to miss him.

A motorcycle store, you could make it from wood, from the endless amounts of plastic on earth. It just needs to stop teeth, not metal. If I were going out with people biting me I would be in Leather head to toe. Wrap my forearms in sheet metal. you could make shields from doors etc. Swords would be the most valuable thing you could own.

I don't think you would. You'd be in a constant state of shellshocked grief, scrambling to put things together while everything kept getting worse.

Hell yes - a motorcycle jacket and helmet with facemask would go a long way. Swords would be ideal, with a long range rifle and a handgun for last resort (.22 handgun would be ideal).

I used to wonder why the hell they didn't clear every single walker from the vicinity of the fence area, especially after their numbers swelled to the level where they could push over the fence... seriously folks, chain link fences aren't that strong (on a tangent, but how many walkers are in that area... seems like an endless supply). But I figure if everyone was smart and eliminated the danger the show would get real boring real fast.

You are right they should have shields and armor... shoulder pads would eliminate alot of deaths we have seen - you can tell these guys never watched Mad Max or a Raiders game.

They gotta duct tape magazines around their forearms like Brad Pitt in World War Z. When I first saw that, I thought it was genius. It allows you to fight off zombies with your arm if you really need to.

Since they didn't show a body, I doubt she's dead. Everybody is bloody right now. Almost anyone who grabbed her could have easily gotten blood on the car seat.

Disagree. She is dead. It was explained on one of the early episodes or webisodes that the walkers essentially eat the babies whole. The car seat was soaked in blood, not just a little spattered. The walker that Carl open fired on was the one that ate her.

I think Tyrese might have Judith. When he was running away from the tank, his gun was on his back and his arms were in front of him as if he was carrying something.

Think what you could accomplish with Riot Gear and 20 people trained to fight in a phalanx with spears and swords.

For a bit sure. Until you get a massive swarm like the one Daryl saw on the road to medicine. Then shear weight would wreck you.
